DBaN the flash drive instead.

Wait a minute how are the dates on the drive things like 2096? I thought that you couldn't get dates that are higher than 2038 on a 32-bit computer. Are you running 64-bit?
Yes, I am.

The drive is pretty much toast. The reason that the free space changes was because during the format, windows marked all the bad sectors on the flash chip as unusable. Try wiping the drive with Eraser, then formatting it. It that doesn't work, shitcan it.

I'm piggybacking off a satellite connection, in a 3rd world country. I would KILL for 56k right about now.
Maybe your flash drive was swapped with one from a Parallel universe!
You can buy another one from the proceeds of the cold-fusion reactor and Albucurrie drive you'll build, since it's clear these are hidden within this time-warping storage device.
you should have sold it on ebay, along with your alien story.
you could have been a millionaire
Hey, I just got back from 1.12.2038 r. 10:46 µ.
What the fuck are you doing with my stuff?
Decrypt it and it will tell us the future.
Zalgo raped your flashdrive.
it must be buried.

Interesting. Did I really?
This happened to me before giving in my GCSE English coursework a few years ago.
Only, it happened whilst I was trying to print it off in school.
The teacher didn't believe me. She thought I set the entire thing up. ._.
I had to stay behind and do it in School during my freetime.
I had a friend who didn't do 3 of his 4 final assignments for the class.
He put a bunch of non-sense in word with wingdings, then he saved it a .png and told the teacher that something must have happened and his computer just couldn't open them.
He got full points on all 3.
God bless community college.
Get an Aleinware PC
Problem Solved.
If I may suggest some things to make your usb safe and worthwhile, Get killbox to delete undeletable things, a portable AVG version you can find them on a torrent site and they are legal. And for people taking it, I suggest using lock-box to lock your files and USB switchblade, USB switchblade copies their emails passwords and a bunch of cool shit onto your USB when its plugged into their computer.
As soon as that guy from the future notices he picked the wrong flashdrive he will go back and correct his mistake, all of this will be forgotten.
Anyone know a way to force your flash drive to do this? I want this.
You accidentally exchanged your flashdrive for an identical flashdrive belonging to a time-traveler.
Look at those file dates.
Beat me to it hah.
Aliens wouldn't use a flashdrive.
It's too pathetic for them.

Yeah, I think they're using probe powered by our rectal muscles.
electronic in flash drive electronic crop circle causing weather balloons.
A friend of mine just told me (after seeing this thread) that this is the result of having a cheap Chinese knock-off flash drive. What happened was while it SAYS the drive is about 4GB, it's actually far, far less; more like a few hundred MB. When you save files to it over the ACTUAL amount, then the entire drive corrupts.

If I had a dollar for everytime this happened to me...
maybe I'd have enough cash to bribe the aliens into taking their probes outta my ass.

Knew what it was before opening it.
Hey dude get CCleaner and check your registry. It is just some registry files fucking up I think. I don't know I had something similar to this and I sorted out my registry using CCleaner. Reformatted and it was ok :)
Now, why would aliens use the Latin and Cyrillic languages?
Be reasonable.

What does the registry have to do with an external device?

It's untranslatable from their language, it uses Unicode v26.
