I think you're forgetting that this is Cars, the movie that sold billions upon billions in merchandise, now being continued.
yup merchandise makes the movie i forgot about that thanks
Cars wasn't bad at all
Yeah maybe if you're younger than 10...
yup merchandise makes the movie i forgot about that thanks
money makes the world go round. if it sells, make a sequel.
How many people here remember the "inappropriate genre" teaser trailers Pixar created for Toy Story 3? This teaser's a similar deal. They're riffing off plot-points and slipping them into genre-theme trailers that obviously/intentionally do not fit the film as a whole. I never really had any hopes for a Cars 2 sequel (and was generally avoidant of Cars), but I'll admit: This teaser is winning me over.
cars was terrible

I want a Finding Nemo 2 or Bug's Life 2.
I want a Finding Nemo 2.
First one would suck. You can't expand after the end of the original. Marlin learnt to be a better father, found a friend in Dory, and Nemo also learned to be a better son. It just can't continue.
Hey. Don't talk shit about it yet. Pixar has yet to fail to entertain me with a movie.
No. It's about Lightning Mcqueen Joining a World cup and racing around the world while mater gets confused for a International spy and accidentally joins the spy world
I'm not one to get picky, but hasn't that plot been used for basically everything? I mean, it's the damn plot for North by Northwest... and A Man Called Flintstone etc etc.
Don't worry. Pixar will do a lot of research and script revision before they make the film.
Matter Clancy: Splinter Cars. At least I tried...
Of all the goddamn sequel opportunities You motherfuckers at Pixar
rated rainbow cause i dont know what to think.
I think everyone is forgetting that this is Pixar. A story about an old man and a little boy traveling in a balloon house doesn't sound good on paper but Pixar made it fantastic enough to be nominated for an Oscar. Don't judge it so quickly.
I don't know about you, but the idea of a young boy traveling around in a balloon with an old man already sounds like a premise of a deep and powerful movie, while the premise of talking cars doing spy work does not.
I think they bit off more then they could chew
Where the hell have you guys been? Pixar was fucked hard by Disney years ago. Why the fuck do you think they're coming out with all these fucking sequels? It's only a matter of time before they start blowing ass. [editline]23rd October 2010[/editline] You people need to realize that whatever made Pixar good was gang raped by a team of executives and then thrown out the third story window. And it was pretty weak until they shored it up.
Cars wasn't bad at all
how about we rephrase this and solve the argument by saying Cars wasn't bad it just wasn't as good as other Pixar film's?
What the fuck is going on here? Cars wasn't that bad.
Mater Clancy: Splinter Cars. At least I tried...
"Mater" has one "t". :eng101:
