You'd be surprised of how many theories fall into this category. String theory Higgs boson Just to name two off the top of my head.
String Theory just sounds better than String Hypothesis. In reality neither are proven yet. [editline]05:38PM[/editline]
Oh I remember you! You always have nothing productive to say so you criticize other people for believing in something you don't. In the last evolution thread, I spent 4-5 pages trying to explain myself and you still shot me down. That really is a bad trait. If you have nothing productive to say in a science thread then don't say anythig at all. My motive (for making this thread) was to stir up discussion, critical thinking, and to exchange ideas.
That's because you were spouting bullshit that was instantly discredited and then you complained about it. And you, Wakka, telling me that I have nothing productive to say? You might as well insult me for being Christian if you want to maintain that level of consistency. You have never once backed up any of your arguments and when you've tried you use either horribly biased or monstrously incorrect sources with no credibility and then whine when we point out how wrong they are. Yeah, but usually such is done by telling people ideas you actually thought of beforehand. Too bad you don't accept science as science or evidence as evidence, so when you try to present either of the two you fail horribly and just spark another round of people telling you to get the fuck out because you hardly understand even the things that you say, much less anything that everyone else tries to tell you. [editline]05:43PM[/editline]
Seriously stop trying to gang up on Wakka with his beliefs, I'm not religious, but I think you people are being asses. As to Wakka, I suspect you believe in evolution, however you believe that your god had something to do with it?
I've argued with Wakka innumerable times, and every time he has stated his flawed and incoherent beliefs, every time all his sources have been either discredited or proven wrong(that is when he works up to guts to show them), every time he has left either in a little hissy fit where he complains of wrongful treatment by us 'darwinists', and every time he returns at a later date claiming the same things and using the same sources. Ho has no credibility, no obligation to search for the truth, and no scientific drive whatsoever.
You'd be surprised of how many theories fall into this category. String theory Higgs boson Just to name two off the top of my head.
Ok, but they have basis to increase knowledge, unlike a process that does not need to be for reasons of stupidity, where String theory is unification and Higgs Boson is a reliant inference to suggest where mass came from. and I found that movie I suggest you watch it, "Ultimate Survivor: The Mystery of Us". It explains most of our known family tree (by most, it is like 4 years old and I haven't been following new evidence). [editline]08:30PM[/editline] Thought to add a pic and some info 1 HOMO HABILIS ~ NICKNAME: Handyman LIVED: 2.4 to 1.6 million years ago HABITAT: Tropical Africa DIET: Omnivorous – nuts, seeds, tubers, fruits, some meat 2 HOMO SAPIEN ~ NICKNAME: Human LIVED: 200,000 years ago to present HABITAT: All DIET: Omnivorous - meat, vegetables, tubers, nuts, pizza, sushi 3 HOMO FLORESIENSIS ~ NICKNAME: Hobbit LIVED: 95,000 to 13,000 years ago HABITAT: Flores, Indonesia (tropical) DIET: Omnivorous - meat included pygmy stegodon, giant rat 4 HOMO ERECTUS ~ NICKNAME: Erectus LIVED: 1.8 million years to 100,000 years ago HABITAT: Tropical to temperate - Africa, Asia, Europe DIET: Omnivorous - meat, tubers, fruits, nuts 5 PARANTHROPUS BOISEI ~ NICKNAME: Nutcracker man LIVED: 2.3 to 1.4 million years ago HABITAT: Tropical Africa DIET: Omnivorous - nuts, seeds, leaves, tubers, fruits, maybe some meat 6 HOMO HEIDELBERGENSIS ~ NICKNAME: Goliath LIVED: 700,000 to 300,000 years ago HABITAT: Temperate and tropical, Africa and Europe DIET: Omnivorous - meat, vegetables, tubers, nuts 7 HOMO NEANDERTHALENSIS ~ NICKNAME: Neanderthal LIVED: 250,000 to 30,000 years ago HABITAT: Europe and Western Asia DIET: Relied heavily on meat, such as bison, deer and musk ox
So ... aquatic apes that went back onto land and you have a religious background. Are you by chance trying to relate human development to some big flood or another?
Why don't you people understand? If you have nothng productive to say, don't say it. You come in here criticizing and that's it. For the last time, I do believein the process of evolution. I also believe in a God like millions if not billions of other humans. No one gave you the right to put yourself above others because of how YOU view the world. It's just plain disgusting and I will have none of it. I also realize I've been trolled badly.
Umm, you know evolution and the bible kinda don't work together. The bible pretty much said that there is no evolution (bla bla god created adam and eve) so... you can't believe in both that's impossible.
it's a metaphor etc etc
