Haha okay.
I like opeth, nile and those "non-mainstream" bands but...this list=shit
Shitty list.
Shitty list.
aka Difference in opinion actually.
I like this list, however I'd like Chimaira and Fear Factory to be up there:P

And rap isn't amirite?
And rap isn't amirite?
Of course not.
Rap is about fucking hoes, beating women, shooting bruddas, and robbing banks. Duh.

You forgot the n word, G...
Top 100 Metal Albums of the Decade
Still Life
Studio album by Opeth
Released 18 October 1999
:v:
Sorry, I mega failed. I saw a bunch of Opeth and was just instantly like "where in the fuck is Still Life". Totally forgot the 'decade' part. :)
I approve of this list.
I don't like these lists because there is no way to objectively capture all the best elements of the music. They are sort of pointless.
I don't like these lists because there is no way to objectively capture all the best elements of the music. They are sort of pointless.
And all these lists are opinionated so there will always be people who disagree with it.
There is no way to make one definitive best 100 list
And so opinion is really the best way to do it, if not the only real way.
I don't like these lists because there is no way to objectively capture all the best elements of the music. They are sort of pointless.
Short of making a list for each element.
Top 100 Metal Albums of the Year:
Top Guitar Lead:
Top Drum Performance:
Top Vocal Performance:
Top Melodic Performance:
Top Lyrical Performance:
etc., etc. But that would take waaay too much effort. And would still have a lot of opinion in it.
Also, where the flying FUCK is Down!? :( This list makes me really sad.
[editline]05:18PM[/editline]
System of a Down, Sunn O))), and and Superjoint Ritual are also all very noticeably missing.
[editline]05:20PM[/editline]
I like that song a lot more than the other one, but I still am not particularly fond of the guy's voice. Seems borderline cheesy. I've never really understood what the big deal about Jeff Loomis is either. *Equips flame-retardant clothing* :science:
[editline]05:21PM[/editline]
Mudvayne, Municipal Waste, Job for a Cowboy, Cannibal Corpse... This list is so incomplete.
Sunn O))) is drone doom, not metal, but still awesome.
The rest if the bands you listed is all shitty *core
I approve of the list though, Blackwater Park really is the best album of the decade pretty much. Most of my favorite bands in there aswell.

Down, Cannibal Corpse, System of a Down, Mudvayne, Electric Wizard, The Faceless and Job for a Cowboy (talking about recent works) are not *Core
Sunn O))) Is Drone Doom, but both Drone and Doom mean Drone Metal and Doom Metal.
Superjoint Ritual I guess is more Hardcore than it is Metal, but I'd still call it Metal. Municipal Waste is also Hardcore/Thrash, but more Thrash in my opinion.
metal has drums, sunn O))) hasn't.
Why does everyone fucking love metal here?
Cause we're all pretentious bastards who like to think we're better than everyone else :smug:
Nah it's just cause we like decent music.
it's just a bunch of people screaming about killing people and shit.
If I knew you i'd force feed you your own face :colbert:
Where is Reinventing the Steel - Pantera. Revolution is My Name was nominated for a grammy... it seems like the album would be on there. Not to mention that album just kicks ass.
metal has drums, sunn O))) hasn't.
Metal also has super down tuned guitars, which sunn O))) have.
Have you never listened to drone music?
metal has drums, sunn O))) hasn't.
There are a lot of drone bands who use drums.

The fact that there's to Nevermore albums in top 5 makes it alright
Though I strongly disagree with the list.
Great list bro.
Though, imo, i'd put both Dethalbums on there.
its the same fucking bands through the whole list
Where the fuck is God Hates Us All?
Where the fuck is God Hates Us All?
Hopefully behind World Painted Blood.

8. Katatonia – Last Fair Deal Gone Down
9. Katatonia - Viva Emptiness
54. Megadeth - Endgame
58. In Flames – Clayman
76. Tool – Lateralus

I listened to night is the new day and I got really bored
I respect how good they are as musicans but there wasn't anything I could really grab onto and love.
Kinda like a less intresting Opeth really, I thought the vocals were really similar
what are some other katatonia albums that kick ass
