Real track: 6:07
But they are saying that this version is the "Radio Edit" which will be a shorter version to be played on radios.
Damn Ninjoids
this 'radio edit' sounds like absolute shit, it's pretty clear that it's a fake - a convincing fake, but a fake nonetheless
'pharrell's' vocals in the beginning lack the reverb that they later have in the actual clips cut from ads, and it's missing the awesome nile rogers' guitar riff that ignites the entire song, and there's absolutely no way in hell that a radio edit, meant to garner attention from the masses, would miss a hook as sweet as that
not to even mention that ending lmao
it's so goddamn bad, no way daft punk would put out something that unpolished and shit-sounding
I quite liked the ending of the radio edit.
it really isn't very good at all
it sounds like something bashed their head against a synth keyboard and thought "well this melody sounds good!!!" when in reality, it isn't very good and it certainly isn't daft punk
sounds extremely unpolished and lacks the right daft punk feel

Its not the real thing anyways.
And if you are just referring to the SNL ad, then you probably ever liked discovery either, and if so, what are you doing here?
p. sure he's talking about the radio fake
then yeah, its not the real thing.
Strangely well done fake, if it is. I mean, they had to make up those lyrics and have a Pharrell soundalike sing them.
I don't know what to think.
Maybe I'll just isolate myself from all future Daft rumours until the full real single is released. Until then, I'll reserve judgement

A part of from the music that plays in the background when you go daftpunk.com
I hope it's not the real one or I'll be a bit disappointed.

talking about the fake track
i love discovery with all my heart, but that abomination at the end of the fake track was just wretched and in no way daft punk
I'm hoping for an equivalent of Digital Love on this album. Something heartfelt, but still super fuckin catchy.

that fucking supertramp-ish wurlitzer solo at about 3 minutes in never fails to give goosebumps
Even the lyrics in the radio edit are pretty bad...
Like the legend of the pheonix
All ends with beginnings
What keeps the planet spinning
The force from the beginning
[chorus]
The present has no rhythm (Neither do your lyrics)
Your gift keeps on giving
What is this I'm feeling?
[chorus]
[chorus again, accompanied by robots]
No flow, just pretty lackluster. Also they consistently repeated
We've come too far
To give up who we are
So let's raise the bar
And our cups to the stars
as if it was part of the chorus but it has a clear opening and closing, and the hook is obviously
She's up all night to the sun
I'm up all night to get some
She's up all night for good fun
I'm up all night to get lucky
which immediately follows it every time. That first part seems like it would be a one-time thing...
If that's the real deal I might just burn my entire music collection. Also that synth at the end. lol ok

Some of the best songs out there have terrible lyrics. And look at Daft Punk's previous songs, not exactly lyrical genius

They usually structure their hooks properly.
I don't see why it can't be not real. Ask yourselves is this honestly any worse than Robot Rock or Teachers? They don't always make good songs.

It's already pretty much confirmed that it's not the official release. The reddit thread was closed down, news articles that initially posted about it have edited their articles, etc. Here's what the radio station even said:
“This is not the official, final version of the song, but we heard it, and it sounds pretty damn close..”
Even if it's "close" it's not the real version.
I never thought such a huge confusing storm of fakes and edits could come from one song, damn. I'm not listening to any of this shit until I hear it confirmed from Daft Punk themselves.
I like it :(

Even so, wouldn't this just mean its some editing and not a drastically different song?

Their songs have never had lyrics because they used samples. But they said they are not using samples anymore, but real lyrics. And if anyone is going to do it right it right it would be Daft Punk. I'm pretty sure they brought in so many collaborators for a reason

Uh, several of their previous songs have lyrics sung through a vocoder
Things having retro vibes these days for some reason never gets old
it's a paradox.
Uh, several of their previous songs have lyrics sung through a vocoder
Yeah but with a real singer, without the robot aspect
I've never seen so much effort to fake a song that is going to be released in a matter of days. Damn Daft Punk have done a good job raising hype.
Even so, wouldn't this just mean its some editing and not a drastically different song?
Editing can do a world of difference. Whether this be a fan edit very well done or some sort of old version of the song, I feel confident in saying that there's definitely a more current version of the song.
Either way, I'm not listening to anything anymore until I hear it confirmed from Daft Punk themselves, people are causing way too much trouble with all these edits and rumors

Yeah I'm stopping as well. I don't want to be thinking about what matches or not when I hear the official release for the first time.
