it's just that the synth at the end sounds so bad and pharrell's vocals sound so uninspired - they lack the funk that he has in the snl clip
and now daft punk fans shift their expectations onto the full version of the song and the album
urgh
Why are people freaking out over this
I listened to the SNL thing the other day and it was pretty rad. Just popped in here to listen to "the radio edit" posted 1-2 pages ago and it seem pretty much like an expanded radio-edited version of that SNL sample, I dunno why its suddenly bad or anything
Because the part of the song in the ad, assuming the "leak" is not fake, took the only part of the vocals that sounded polished. If I had known the rest of the Pharrell's singing sounded this horrible I wouldn't have been hyped at all.
Honestly, if this leaked version turns out to be the real deal, it'll display a big flaw in their marketing. They should have stopped at the second SNL ad and not aired that bit with the vocals at Coachella and SNL. For one it'd increase the surprise we get from there being vocals and then it'd also not bring up "unrealistic" expectations. Although expecting good vocals from a supposedly good singer isn't "unrealistic" but there we go.

It's not as terrible as people seem to suggest, but personally I prefer the advert to the full thing.

I like it, but the synth at the end is pretty out of place.
you all hyped yourselves up into the ground. i like the song i think it's a fun song. can't wait to hear the full version
You know what, it is more polished than yesterday's version. The odd transitions have been tuned down and the echo is consistent among all the vocals. But it still stands that the vocals are ugh and the song is generally much less than I expected it to be.
I'll eat my own shoe for insisting that the leak was a fake...in an hour.
it's simply put not justice as you know it
if you liked cross do yourself a favor and dont listen to AVD, all you'll get is disappointment.
avd is a light rock that comes off as a parody of pre-90s rock
this is the only song that sounds like justince on the whole album:

I love this justice
its like daft punk plus disco plus led zeplin
idk i love it
I don't listen to Daft Punk but I think this leaked version is pretty good. Maybe they are just going a new direction and people don't like it? I have no idea because I literally don't listen to Daft Punk at all.
Like seriously I don't hear anything especially jarring at all. I am not into the genre though so maybe I don't know anything about anything.
i've found that the album really grows on you after a while, idk. and the whole thing about justice not being similar to daft punk - that's been kind of obvious since "cross" itself, tbh. justice is very hard and intense, not to mention there's a lot more gratuitous microsampling in justice's work (even if you can't tell, it's VERY much present in AVD as well) whereas daft punk feels to me a bit more minimalistic in it's approach. AVD is obviously not "more of cross" but then again RAM is obviously not a continuation of previous daft punk styles
if you're looking for more club/house-ish stuff from justice, they've still stuck to that with their live sets and not to mention they recently did an extended mix of helix that combined elements of it with bits from genesis and civilization:
Helix and Presence are bangin' tracks
Am I weird? I usually like the albums that are a complete 180 of the previous albums.
I love Pendulum's Hold Your Colour as well as In Silico.
I love Justice's Cross as well as Audio Video Disco.
I love Kraftwerk's Autobahn as well as Man-Machine.
And I am pretty sure I will like Random Access Memories. I think you guys are over-reacting, yes the song is different, no it isn't terrible.
I'm just not hearing what people are complaining about
I knew I should have bought that thousand dollar power cable...
It's literally just hit me why all the fans are disliking it.
It's not like Daft Punk, it's a very different direction from their old songs.
I still think it's fucking fantastic but it makes a lot of sense when you think of it that way.
They're trying to do something new, I'm happy for them. A lot of artists get stuck with some "blueprint" and it ultimately kills them. Sometimes you gotta change shit up, you can't win them all or make all people happy. I really dig the fact they got some really fucking talented people on the album that are gonna make a musical explosion of awesomeness.
Shit I just been listening to their discography and I can say Discovery is a hell of album, but to be honest anything sounds good when you got two robots fucking jamming out. So I'm listening to their shit regardless, because of that reason, robots who are badass music artists.
It's out on iTunes. It's the leak.

Pretty underwhelming with what we've already been given
[editline]19th April 2013[/editline]
I feel like they made 1/3 of a beautiful, kick ass song, and then just decided to loop it a couple of times
Yeah, there really isn't much point of counting down for another half hour
Bought it, Fuck yeah
Everyone has the same avatars.
Dammit.
so where is the tune
holy shit this song is amazing
getting discovery flashbacks
I need a Youtube link.
So I've been listening to the first 30 seconds or so of this interview and I can't seem to find the sample in the leak. Perhaps I'm just hearing things, but is it possible that the leak is simply unfinished?
I dunno'. It's late and I might well be imagining things.
-turns out I must be hearing things-
out on itunes, same as zune
confirmed
so basically i just dont like the end. it feels so unfitting :(
It's probably just a "oh we're out of time because radio edit" thing. The full song theoretically should be much more "full."

Why is the singing terrible? It sounded pretty much like a looped version of the SNL ad with a couple of added stuff here and there, unless I'm really missing something.
The synth at the end kind of reminds me of Digital Love.
This song is literally the loop of the beginning of the song 5 or 6x then the ad of daft punks part.
thats it, I enjoy it but well not worth my dollar and 29 cents
