Won every duel against Facepunchers today. You guys are too easy :v:
I would have actually dueled you if you weren't such a farmer.
Agreed. Unless you fill half your deck with TRAP CARDS. I have yet to lose so far. Only 1 spell card in the entire deck.
Does a deck need to have monster cards at all?
Does a deck need to have monster cards at all?
Like rule wise? No, you can have a deck with all magic or trap cards. Gameplay wise it isn't very smart to do so.
Yugioh is getting a small resurgence in my university.

Oh wow, Yu-Gi-Oh... I'm Rob Hooley Jnr, I used to work with my father and Upperdeck Entertainment running organised play programs for Yu-Gi-Oh! in Europe and looking to get back into helping run things, seeing as my work colleague Matt Bell just left my company (which started out when I was 14 running YGO consumer events in the UK) to work for Konami doing research and development on the game and sets therein. My good friend Paul Race runs www.netrep.net that deals with all official rulings on cards and official game stat questions also. If you want to know what it was like managing 270+ players per tournament, or have any rulings questions, please feel free to ask.
I always knew Lithifold was cool.
But not this cool. [editline]16th July 2011[/editline]
Oh wow, Yu-Gi-Oh... What's the pay? Where they any problems that stood out to you, or really unexpected events? If so, do tell! What was the general audience apparel?

Awesome Lith! You crazy mofo. Need a new deck, dunno what to make though. :I [editline]17th July 2011[/editline] Confident I've built a ridiculously powerful deck. Lets go.
Just got back from a yugioh 'gathering' thing we have every 2 weeks (nothing official, there's about 30 of us and we use a hall at my friends workplace), got a few sweet cards through trades: A moon dragon thing who's name I can't remember, Guardian Eatos, Another grandmaster of the six samurai, Effect veiler, Gateway of the six, 2 secret rare 'fabled' and 'scrap' cards, can't remember their names, Vanadis Good haul, if I do say so myself!

Most of those are new-age tuner crap. I miss the days when the Six Samurai weren't Synchro dependent. Guardian Eatos is pretty good though.
Effect Veiler averages $20-$25 on ebay, what are you smoking?
Vanadis of the Nordic Ascendants? Most of those are new-age tuner crap. I might be making a Nordic deck if I can get the cards essential for them. Six Samurai aren't Synchro "dependant", they can run just fine without a Shi En, he's just a (really, really good) bonus :v:
How hard would you say it is on a scale of 1 to 10? Depends on how many tournaments you're running at a time, if you're on side events you can be running around eight tournaments at a time and it can get confusing. It's more stressful on national level events, if you make a mistake it goes into the coverage and you get a big black mark next to your name. What's the pay? We were compensated in booster packs, back then it was a display or two of 24 boosters depending on your judge level. Where they any problems that stood out to you, or really unexpected events? If so, do tell! Yes, when I was running an event in Sheffield and I was threatened with a lawsuit for not giving a kid with Asperger a promo card after he'd left a tournament. What was the general audience apparel? Normal I guess
What the actual fuck? That's bullshit
I got a questions about No. 39 Utopia's effect "When any player's monster declares an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the attack. When this card is targeted for an attack, while it has no Xyz Materials: Destroy this card." Can I stop my own monster from attacking into cards like Mirror Force or Dimensional Prison?

[editline]17th July 2011[/editline] The child must also be spoiled as fuck.
You avoided their trap card.

Grizzly Scissors! That's one of the most powerful cards in Duel Monsters
Grizzly Scissors! That's one of the most powerful cards in Duel Monsters
I used to be one of the people who caught out fake cards, I can say without a doubt that this is legit.
Dueled a guy using same deck as me Was very annoying to say the least
Dueled a guy using same deck as me Was very annoying to say the least
Don't tell me you copied your deck off the internet?
Hey hey. Hey guys. I go for the underused deck types. Anti-Heal? Check. Stalling? Check. SKILL DRAIN!? Check. I'll probably make even more annoying decks to play against in DN. You can simply find me as Sinjin there.
At a tournament, say something simple like locals, would people notice fake cards? I mean if I just copied cards off the internet and printed them somehow and used them, would anyone know/care? [editline]17th July 2011[/editline] I've dueled him a ton, he doesn't know how to make a good deck on his own. :v:
Yeah, they're against tournament policy and you'd receive a match loss and be told to correct your deck, if you can't then you'd be removed from the tournament.
How would they know though?
It's pretty damned obvious. There are a multitude of printing techniques to make sure that it's not that easy.
It's pretty damned obvious. There are a multitude of printing techniques to make sure that it's not that easy.
yeah, it's like how money isn't actually paper, it's cloth.
I hate Lightsworns so much. Is there any real counter to them?
Idgaf if I can't make my own deck. I get them offline then fine tune them to my liking. So it's not that bad. And nah, he wasn't using the exact same deck. Similar though.
