Oh yeah, insult the guys imagination. Smooth moves, kiddo.
dude are you high when you made this becouse is very artistic
*ahem* dude, were you high when you made this post, because is almost grammar. Seriously reminds me of back in high school. Anytime anyone did something cool, unique, and tough to accomplish, the pot-heads would always ask if they did drugs because they were 'good' or 'crazy' or 'genius' ideas, probably because when they're high, everything seems like the fucking genesis. only one good idea have I heard from a stoner, and that was the concept of taco bell delivering food all night long, to keep stoners from driving off a cliff in a fit of laughter.

Final destination.
Oh my god if I tried to take photos while high... Final destination.
hahaha... you know, I'm actually interested there. Not because I think things'd come out better compared to your usual work, but they may be interesting. An altered mind finds different subjects amusing... just don't shake the camera with all the giggling ;D
Using pothead to boost your imagination is like driving Tour De France with a ferrari.
Using pothead to boost your imagination is like driving Tour De France with a ferrari.
you're going to get there faster, but someone's getting run over in the process?
No. You can't grab refreshment drinks they hand out to the bikers.
I dont see the great artistic value in Smilecythe's art. im not trying to bash anyone, but down to the brutal basis of things, hes not that great an artist.
Ok, getting around to giving that crit like I said. Of course, you don't have to agree with it ;) I strongly believe that a change in your work would be good, topics besides sex / gore / pain / vaginas / surreal would be nice and display different abilities and skills. On the pics themselves: Excluding 'style' and if these pictures were intentionally created this way or not, they seem very stiff, there's little flexibility to show these characters as fleshy. The arms in your 'Lupanar Industrial' and 'Harem' pictures seem pretty long, and the hands seem too small and again, stiff. I would complain the boobies are a bit big, but I guess that's preference - mine mostly due to the petite bodies of your female figures. Certainly work on your faces and different views, please break away from this anime style emerging (seen particularly in 'Laid of Dormant' - I think more realistic features would enable you better express her possible evil / malice / sadist? I don't believe the chunky hair is too effective either. On this picture her NECK,(from her view) left SHOULDER and RIBCAGE & ABDOMEN look particularly odd. Look up some nude references. The robotic features in many of the pictures, I think, could be further enhanced with sharper, straighter lines, rigidness and more definition and details. All in all, this subject of art doesn't really appeal to me, it's somewhat 'shock factor' and to me seems immature, or more accurately, adolescent, nevertheless I'm sure it's a key stage in your artistic development and process and I can regardless appreciate it for what it is. I like that you can set a mood and take time to color your artwork (I get bored easily and quickly with my pieces). If you continue with this sort of thing, all I can say is good luck in the sincerest way, and the only advice I can truely hand out in such case is to work on your anatomy, for both the male and female figures. ;)
Yo this guy is drawing on Ryu-Gi's turf.
Yo this guy is drawing on Ryu-Gi's turf.
No, he draws what pleases him as do most of us here. Your comrade in question doesn't have copyright on specific styles and subjects. Smilecythe is someone thats draws with me on the occasional project and I suggested he pop by here as its a good place to get critique and bounce your stuff off other people. FP has not disappointed, a quality forum.
New picture. It's not the picture book of anatomy or a picture of enormous effort behind. Just a quick idea I came up with while was doing I don't have any idea. Quite hard even for me to describe. [editline]08:23PM[/editline] I'd like to pick on perspective, the circular room is weird and doesn't really aligin with the cross. Then there's material definition that's weird, the wall figures, I can't really get what they are, best guess is that they're paper mace. Anatomical knowledge of babies is nonexistant. It's tad too small, use larger canvas 3000x5000 or less. Shading is weird and those cand'es don't seem to affect anything, neither does the hellhole in the ceiling. It uses "3rd Party" lighting. The blood on the :v: dude doesn't follow it's form, meaning you have to work on your 3d thinking. I suggest use more reference images and maybe pick up 3d modelling. And for gods sake do a lot more of traditional art besides this macabre shockers.
Anatomical knowledge of babies is nonexistant.
Theyre fetuses to be exact, but other than that you got quite the balls of truth.
Very interesting, normally with gore images I feel a slight turn in my stomach, which I don't mind, but with these I don't. My only question is, have you given a name for the grayish girls? Also, welcome to facepunch.
:wtc:
My only question is, have you given a name for the grayish girls?
Well, I've just called them Gray Ladies so far.

That's pretty cool, but the contrast is horrible, if I'm allowed to say. You're missing all the highlights and it feels really, really dark. If it was inteded like that, then okay, cool. But make all those little red dots alot more smoother, like the ornaments(which look lovely, by the way) or make them all sources of light.
Incase my homepage didn't lure you - Here's some old stuff without gore and other sacred and tender stuff. Holy shit, actual artistic, intelligent discussion in this thread? All gore and guro and sex aside, I think this thread deserves some more attention, if at the very least for the previously mentioned and the fact that Smilecythe, while being scary, seems like a p. cool guy.
Goddamn, that's disgusting.

That's impressive. If I met him in real life, I'd get him a can of Dr.Pepper.
I'm strictly paint but this guy uses paint, photoshop, makes music, websites, seriously, his body of work is a sight to behold. I'm not in the same league.
He makes shitcore though.
He makes shitcore though.
I do music of any kind. [editline]12.36[/editline] And here's thread for my music
musical range is quite diverse, yet definitely all reflects the overall artistic style smiley has... crazy, unpredictable, and away off the beaten path from what people are used to or comfortable with, and if I remember correctly that whole not being comfortable thing was a major part of the shitcore stuff.
