That's not a Honda :)
And speaking of. It's not about the car, it's about the owner. There's just as many riced americars as japanercars
Don't make a thread with the title, "asking for cheap reliable car" and then shoot down the most obvious fucking choice.
It's almost starting to be a regular occurrence now. Someone asks for people to show them a nice cheap affordable car, and then they get all picky and say they want something else.
If you know what you want, why do you need us?
"Best car for price/reliability"
Get a japanese car with low mileage, preferably with service records. If it's been properly maintained, it'll have next to 0 problems for atleast a year. While it may be a rare case, my $500 Corolla has been going strong for about a year now. It needs a rad flush and a tiny oil leak might need to be fixed, but it's been driving fine since I bought it.
The dodge neon is a lost cause.

It is still good to see people who own shit cars taking good care of them. Even though he riced it out. I drove by a neon the other day and I literally looked around looking for a lawnmower. (he was flooring it and going 55)
Somewhat offtopic but
This thread make me somehow discover the honda insight, and then be amazed that this car I've never heard of gets 60mpg and yet totally modern at the same time while not being completely retarded in price (17k new-used price)
Only issue is they look completely stupid. There's someone selling one in my area for $5500, a 2003 model I think. Would have totally grabbed that if it wasn't for the fact that my current geo metro I got recently for only $1400 fills a similar role, even if its much more basic. At least I know I won't have to worry about high maintenance.
clearly the most reliable car for its price is the reliant robin.
