Israel's prime minister Ehud Olmert has said that tens of thousands of Israeli reservists were being called up to help with the invasion.
Open fields near the north Gazan town of Beit Hanoun were churned up by the impacts of 155 mm shells fired by M109 self-propelled howitzers before the invasion.
Artillery is often used before ground assualts to clear territory of booby traps and enemy combatants prior to a land invasion.
Israel had already renewed its attempts to decapitate the leadership of Hamas in missile strikes, killing a top military commander as it pounded targets in Gaza for the eighth day.

I totally and fully support Israel. I feel sorry for you guys.
Israel is the only democracy in the middle of alot of barbaric countries - countries that execute homosexuals and women that have been raped.
It makes no sense at all that big parts of the world is against Israel even though Israel is the only country in the Middle East that cares for human rights.
Israel can't do no wrong.
Expect for this bit but we will not talk about it:

The wrong in here is astounding.
The only reason Israel is favoured was cause america wanted a strong hold in the middle east because the russians were doing their thing in afghanistan.
Not because of so called cultured existence relative to those around them, simply because the west created modern Israel and america called in on their debts.
Thats.
It.
So? with 5 against 1, it takes each country to send 20% of their military power for it to be an even match, if the 1 country has a military.
Israel didn't even have an official military at the time, only in the middle of the war did the paramilitary groups joined into an official army.
The 6-days war is also a "real war", look what happened then.
Yom Kippur was still a victory for Israel BTW.

I phrased it badly, i know Yom Kippur was a Israeli victory. Israel vs most of the middle east, if i'm correct?

All of those reports rely on Israel intentionaly starving the civilians to make it illegal. The blockade itself is fine, just the way it is implemented.

wait... in the past 70 years you have got $62bln worth of aid from America not to mention all the millitary equipment they have given you.
Is it for boats to shoot harmless inosent scuba divers in their own waters?

Which is also no longer valid since everything is now allowed except for weapons and some construction materials.

If you're talking about the recent incident near Gaza, they were part of the Al-Aqsa brigade, a military arm of the Hamas, so no they were not harmless "inosent".
We've also given the US some military equipment which we have developed. It's a trade, not a charity.

The russians invaded Afghanistan in the 80s, America was good allies with them LONG before that. America helped create Israel but so did the UN and Britain, I don't think they did it to get at the Arabs though as they were on reasonably good terms with them then.

The collective punishment mentioned primarily is starving them. There are other things in there like destroying civilian property and cripling their economy but no-one is persecuted for things like that, The US bombed hundreds of civilian houses in Iraq and obliterated the economy, it's just what happens when fighting terrorists and insurgents.

You must have proof that America wants to take over lots of countries then, as done China wish to annex every nation around them. Large scale military action does not mean they want to control it, it just means they are using a lot of troops.

yeh... like killing innocent kids and woman when they are eating in their own houses and have done nothing wrong but stupid Israel and American soldiers (in the countrys they start wars with) they kill them almost for fun.

No. That's not what the collective punishment is mentioned for. Collective punishment means punishing everyone, for something one person did.

First, you should change it to "were banned".
Second, so it's wrong to collectively punish civilians, but it's OK to make a blockade. I think in that case, one might have to consider each case specifically, and how might we do that, you might ask? Simple, we see if the UN security council declare the blockade illegal.

Jews have never been hateful. It has nothing to do with the Americans.
This quote from Wafa Sultan (famous ex-muslim) says it all:
"No Jew has blown himself up in a German restaurant."
Islam fuels anger and fanatism. We can see that if we watch their television, for example.
I'm actually gonna create a thread about this...

Its OK to make a blockade as long as its not collective.
