lol I get what he's saying but there's a lot of things wrong with what he's saying as well. The biggest flaw for me is the fact that technology isn't the cause for people not talking to each other in public areas, that's just people being people. If people want to talk, they will, random conversations happen. And if they don't want to talk, then that's not a problem either. People behave the way they do, it's not technology that's causing this already existing behaviour.
Reddit would take this more seriously.
I was pretty with it until all the typical romantic relationship focused appeals to emotion
Remember kids, you can't have a real friendship by just talking to people, you need to know them in person or it doesn't count no matter how much you discuss each other's lives and aspirations through words. What a goddamn shallow message.
I'm glad i don't live in a world like this. It really hasn't caught on with my group of friends, i'm a minority when it comes to smartphones with my friends. My mom is kinda like this though, and she can't hear or speak while reading, which is really frustrating. [editline]5th May 2014[/editline] i have some internet friends, but my irl friends have way higher priority over them
Way to ignore all the good things technology has brought us. Isn't it just so cool and hip to fight the system?
When I'm out with mates I barely even touch my phone and when I do it's quick I sometimes talk to strangers when I'm waiting for my bus or if I'm sitting outside a shop and because of that I've met new people And I use social media a lot The thing is, when I'm coming home from school on the bus and it's been long and boring, all I want to do is listen to my music and see what's going on Facebook and Instagram And the way he labels this generation is so fucking false, I see kids all the time out in the parks, using social media doesn't make you anti-social, using the internet to find new people is perfectly fine and so is meeting up with them which sparks new relationships Like Christ does he expect everyone to have random encounters? Some of my closest friends I met from online because I didn't really have the courage to talk with them IRL but afterwards I was fine This is just stupid, honestly
use your social media as tools for the limitations of real interaction, not as an activity or recreation
what's the song?
Saw this video earlier today and just... ugh. It's disgusting how shallow it is. I keep in contact with old friends thanks to Facebook, Twitter and Steam. I'm an animator - my future job and my hobby will DEPEND on me sitting down a lot in front of a computer, or a tablet/phone/laptop to get down ideas. I have plenty of friends through the internet. Why is it that talking on a chat isn't "being social" but talking outside is? It shouldn't matter HOW I communicate with my friends, what matters is that I do AT ALL. Fuck this video.
Oh boy, another "deep" video about how social media is bad to be shared over social media platforms. Ugh. At least nobody is crying with a bunch of note-cards in this one.
But what if I use my smartphone to meet up with friends in real life? Do I need to write them a letter now, just so I can keep "looking up"?

Some girl had our teacher show this in class today. I really wanted to call it out on its bullshit but I doubt it would've gotten me very far.

Well people use their phones on night clubs to check their facebook but other than that it's bullshit. I enjoyed a lot when I was a kid going out to play at parks but god damn nothing would beat a good ps1/ps2 PC night with mates.
