I'm sick of people getting enough to last them a nuclear winter with a little cart... Then not bringing it up front until everythings piled miles high.... then insisting their cart is enough... I've been working at Kroger for 4 damn days
Ehh, what are those? And why would fat people need them? Here in Europe we force them to walk. We are indeed horrible people.
it's the pinnacle of american technology
6½ hour shift tomorrow. Going to be boring as shit. Good pay though (~28 USD/hour)
I've got a four hour shift tomorrow. Four hours too long.
This might sound silly, but I think I would get really stressed working as a cashier. Especially at the local supermarket. I feel bad for the rookies, because they always stumble upon some problem and have to ask the more experienced workers how to figure it out, all while huge amounts of people are waiting in line.

Anyone else loving confrontations with angry/upset customers. Especially when the store is about to close and I tell everyone to get out they get frustrated. From experience I know that when I ask them to wrap it up and be outside the store in 2 minutes they think I actually mean 10 minutes, or at least that's how long they take. So these days I just tell them to pay and get out now. 9 out of 10 times they want to grab something else and I just stand in front of them and tell them "no, we are closing the store". Whenever they get mad or angry I just tell them they shouldn't have come at the last minute. And seeing the angry/frustrated faces is just priceless. What's even better is when I'm standing at the front door at closing time to open it up for out going customers and to keep it close for any potential incoming customers. They walk to the door expecting it to open and I can't help but to grin and point to my watch.
I would get fired for that.
I get a pat on the back. I think you are misunderstanding my post. I'm not rude. I'm not unfriendly. Hell I get compliments for my kindness at times. But when it's closing time people just don't grasp the fact that we are closing so I am forced to take a slightly more direct approach. But I do enjoy the angry/aggressive reactions so maybe that does make me an asshole.

The power was going out often and there was water in the store. We closed. People still came to the door knocking and getting annoyed because they couldn't get their shopping. Also, my work got robbed of 1 box of cigarettes yesterday. Was very eventful. Guy was asking about how much cigarettes were and as in Australia, we can't tell you, he was all defensive and got a hold of the box and started to walk out saying he would get more money and that he just needed these. He ran out the door, with 3 of us telling to get back into the shop. Guy chose his time right, 15 minutes before the night security guard came he was out the door. I wish they had security cameras in my work's parking lot. There is none currently. And my car was egged and keyed while I was working. And there is no proof of who I know did it, actually did it.
