literally and unironically
Fucking wow great cancer
that's cause they know its a fucking shitheap and they're leaning on the crappy outsourced multiplayer in the hopes of salvaging the game also this trailer is literally and unironically embarrassing to watch
Love the statement of an objectified fact thats no better than a very biased opinion where everyone knows the shit talk it is except for the one who says it. You are going places. Like hell, for example.
I'm still at a loss as to why they chose that song. It just does not fit at all. It's an old post-hardcore song who's lyrics make no reference to any of Doom's subject matters or themes. The trailer is very well made though, I'm not sure how much of it is live action or VFX
This trailer basically sums up what it feels like to play the Plutonia 2 wad.

so how long until a classic doom-ified version like the initial teaser trailer
Did bethesda or ID kill your parents or something?
Yeah, probably with a 9 millimeter too
now this is a DOOM movie I'd watch. Without the Dwayne The Rock
but Karl Urban was doomguy in that, not Jwayne Dohnson It should've been Dwayne as doomguy
I loved how this one didn't show Doomguy getting his ass handed to him. It showed him being a total badass that he is. Love the "Can I scream?" part.
:snip: It is presented very blandly though.
Will this game have a story?
-Rip -Tear
I enjoyed it, but there's something about this trailer that gives me a "how do u do fellow doomers" impression, for lack of a better description. I'm getting a very 'checklist' feel from it. "Right, show Martian soil. Oh, Doom has metal? Have some guy scream for a few seconds, that's pretty metal right? Don't forget to show the shouting skeleton guy and Cyberdemon!". I'm still spewing that I didn't get into the beta, though.
What's the backstory of DOOM, btw? Like, who is this badass, and why is he killing monsters, and how did the monsters end up on Earth (if that's even where this takes place).
What's the backstory of DOOM, btw? Like, who is this badass, and why is he killing monsters, and how did the monsters end up on Earth (if that's even where this takes place).
In Doom 1 Doomguy got sent to Mars because his commanding officer told him to kill an innocent civillian but he said no and killed his commander. This Doomguy? No idea if hes got the same or a new backstory, id are being tight lipped on the actual story. Takes place on Mars like the original. Humanity fucked up and opened a portal to hell.
Takes place on Mars like the original.
The original Doom took place on Phobos, followed by Deimos and Hell. It was Doom 3 that was set on Mars. I really hope that they keep the Martian story elements from Doom 3, that was really rad.
Is the portal only open on Mars? And how is Doomguy such a badass?
Just found the closed beta in my steam library! Was a pleasant surprise!
Me too! I thought it was only included with preorders of The New Order, but I bought it a few months after it came out from G2A and still got access to the beta. It's worth checking if you have it even if you thought you wouldn't get in.
Is the portal only open on Mars? And how is Doomguy such a badass?
Why do you even care, just shoot at dudes.
Doomsguy is such a badass for the same reason a scientist in a protective experiment suit and a crowbar can slaughter tons of aliens and humans alike.
Is the portal only open on Mars? And how is Doomguy such a badass?
The portal's on mars because there are only portals on mars (for now) and doomguy's a badass simply because the player is equipped and capable of killing hordes of demons alone. Also, for fuck's sake, play Doom you jackass.
Why do you even care, just shoot at dudes.
cause the cinematic was badass as fuck and it got me curious about the backstory, acuse it seemed pretty cool
-snip- nvm.
The story of the books is entirely separate from the games.
the novels were basically what happens when someone plays the shareware episode, gets a synopsis of everything else and then creates their own batshit insane plot to try to sell weird books don't take them as anything canon for Doom. when it comes to the original, all you need to know is that the UAC was experimenting with teleporters on Deimos and Phobos, and you happened to be in the wrong place at the right time; everyone else died, so it's up to you to go kick some Demon ass. Doom 3 expands on things a little, adds a more human element, but it's basically the same gist, just with new stuff like an antagonistic asshole scientist in charge of Hell on Mars, and ancient martians having once discovered Hell themselves and creating a superweapon for the purpose of defeating the Demons.
If we don't get a turkey puncher game in this Doom it's ruined
They better make the BFG satisfying. That's the real deal-breaker for me: The BFG MUST be absolutely satisfying to fire and use, because it's such a staple weapon.
The story of the books is entirely separate from the games.
That's what I figured, but I didn't know exactly, was just trying to be friendly and share the book back story.
They better make the BFG satisfying.
There really is no concrete backstory. It changes depending on what you cite and which game you're referring to. Doom 3 is a remake of Doom 1 and it changes some stuff, for instance. Doom ain't about that. It's about shotgunning tons of demons in the face.
That was such a sick read, cheers for taking the time to type it up.
