It was really funny. I loved it
Me and another guy saw it with 4 girls. All the girls said it was crap but me and the guy loved it.
I think it might be the weakest of the trilogy comedy wise, but it is the most real in a way.
The characters are a lot more real than in Hot Fuzz and SoTD. You actually sort of pity Garry in a way the trailers don't show.
It's a lot more actiony than the other 2 which sort of means there are less jokes overall.
Still though it's amazing and good end to the trilogy. Cornetto cameo was brilliant too.
The part that got the most laughs was when [sp]Nick Frosts character finally got drunk and turned around and walked into the glass door[/sp]

If anyone cares, here's the to be fair, pretty obvious significances of the pub names
The first post: [sp]The first pub they visited, starting point[/sp]
The old familiar: [sp]Exactly the same as the first post[/sp]
The famous cock: [sp]Gary is barred for life for being a cock[/sp]
The crossed hands: [sp]The first fight scene in the film, a lot of grappling[/sp]
The good companions: [sp]The first time all 5 drink a pint together[/sp]
The trust servant: [sp]Their former drug dealer informs them of what is actually going on within Newton Haven[/sp]
The two headed dog: [sp]They fight the twins, who as always together, like a single, two headed being[/sp]
The mermaid: [sp]Three of the boys are seduced by the legendary marmalade sandwich, much like mermaids luring sailors with their siren calls[/sp]
The beehive: [sp]The hive mind plan is revealed by Piers fucking Brosnan[/sp]
The kings head: [sp]A big character development point with Gary king, and about why he wanted to go back to Newton Haven[/sp]
The hole in the wall: [sp]Steven crashes the beast through the wall[/sp]
The world's end: [sp]Pretty self explanatory[/sp]
The hole in the wall: [sp]Sam crashes her call through the wall[/sp]
Actually, [sp] that guy crashes The Beast through the wall [/sp]
Actually, [sp] that guy crashes The Beast through the wall [/sp]
You are right, my memory of the evening was a little fuzzy, actually going to go and see it again on tuesday, after watching Shaun and Hot Fuzz on blu ray
Cornetto cameo was brilliant too.
[sp]In my opinion, that was the most depressing part of the film. The Cornetto wrapper is a relatively obvious metaphor for hope for humanity. The fact that it is blown away means that hope is lost for humanity to reach the highs that it had when the aliens controlled everything.[/sp]

In retrospect, I think the most depressing part for me was when [sp] They were trying to get Gary to show his arms and he wouldn't, I didn't get that until yesterday morning when I remembered he had slit his wrists :( [/sp]

[sp]When did that happen?[/sp]

I just kind of assumed that [sp]he'd injected a lot of drugs over the years, the accident was caused by him supposedly overdosing, possibly on heroin[/sp]
[sp]When did that happen?[/sp]
In the Smoke House. When they were trying to [sp] prove they weren't Blanks [/sp]
to the above poster, [sp]If it were trackmarks Gary wouldn't have a problem with showing them, it was common knowledge he's on drugs. There's a stigma involved with cutting your wrists, which is why they were bandaged up and he was so reluctant. He was in a mental home at the beginning too. [/sp]
I personally found this one funnier than the other two - loved all the cameos from actors from the other two as well.
This film was great, just as good as the other two - beautifully directed and absolutely hilarious. Imagine a sequel made around the concept of [sp] the ending. The adventures of Gary and his gang of blanks. [/sp] I'd pay to see that.
I saw it on Wednesday with my partner. I enjoyed it.
Through out the film my girlfriend was like [sp] "where's the cornetto?" [/sp] and after about the 15th time she asked the scene popped up. I did wonder myself how they would have included it.
I thought that Gary King [sp] had cancer himself through out the film. I assumed that due to that meeting at the start when he was asked if he regretted not doing the golden mile and how he claimed his mother had cancer when she didn't really, that he was the one who had cancer and he wanted to get his old friends together to finish the mile before he died. [/sp]
Just came back from this film. I don't think it was as good as Hot Fuzz personally; but a brilliant film on its own.
nick frost in the 2nd op picture looks like a fatter richard osman
In this movie Nick Frost plays Tom Watson
Aghhh all you brits are lucky to see this movie
I wanted to see it so bad ;-;

It's alright man it's not the end of the world
In this movie Nick Frost plays Tom Watson
That is the most niche joke that has ever been made - congrats!

it could have been, I was being driven around while my step dad was drunk driving, and his band partner that is 50+ years old hollaring at young girls
then I come back and my mom and sister are yelling and physically throwing shit around
going out to see a comedy movie would be really nice right now
Turns out there's a Worlds End pub about 10 minutes away from me

Does anyone know a place where I could find out what films Nick and Simon are making together?
I am asking here since this is the only thread relating to Simon and Nick.
Also I am going to see The Worlds End sometime this month or next month, do not know when though.
Sort of boring at the start but halfway through became hilarious especially with the fact that [sp]Three drunk men were arguing with an Alien intelligence[/sp]
I think it portrayed being hammered pretty well. Especially the bit in the two-headed dog when they're trying to decide what to call the blanks, Gary goes outside and there's an entire scene but when he comes back they're still arguing about it.

I have a pub called "The King's Head" relatively close to me :v:
to be honest the gore in hot fuzz kind of put me off, and the humor was a bit lacking
the movie was great, but it wasn't anywhere as good (or funny) as shaun of the dead
Are you sure you don't have them backwards? Hot fuzz was awesome and funny, shaun of the dead had loads and loads of gore, and lacking humour in my opinion.

That must be a really common pub name because I drove past one near Birmingham the other day

They were both awesome and funny with loads of gore, but Shaun Of The Dead had almost only subtle jokes, with a few exceptions, while Hot Fuzz was like 50/50.
That must be a really common pub name because I drove past one near Birmingham the other day
Yeah, I think I've seen like 5 or 6 pubs with that same name
They were both awesome and funny with loads of gore, but Shaun Of The Dead had almost only subtle jokes, with a few exceptions, while Hot Fuzz was like 50/50.
I probably didn't get the jokes then.

Both films have some really cool Easter Egg jokes you notice after a while. My favourite of these is in Shaun, where Shaun promises to take Liz to 'The Place That Does All The Fish'. In a very brief shot of the phone book when he calls them, the restaurant is actually called 'The Place That Does All The Fish'. It lasts only a few frames though.
