Heh, I saw this and my town, Bournemouth, got mentioned. We're never mentioned like, anywhere.
Really enjoyed it. Noticed all three films in the trilogy have got 91% on Rotten Tomatoes, which makes sense. Hot Fuzz is still my favourite though. This had a great line at the end though: [sp]'Oh, why don't you just fuck off back to Legoland you cunt!'[/sp]
Saw a terrible review yesterday. The guy had obviously not seen a trailer and after the first 5 minutes thought it was a coming of age story about friends getting back together. Then he got really confused when the whole supernatural element came about. He gave it 2 stars.
So I went to see it again on tuesday, did anyone else notice that [sp]every pub had a number somewhere saying what one it was in golden mie[/sp]l, for example The Two Headed Dog [sp]had a little notice thingy about seven guest ale[/sp], The Hole in the Wall [sp]had a sign saying that breakfast was served until 11[/sp] and The Trusty Servant [sp]had a chalkboard reading '6 reasons to drink doubles' and another saying 'Pitchers from £6'[/sp]to name a few

Just got back from seeing it. I loved it. Had a blast seeing the whole trilogy.
I went and saw The Cornetto Trilogy. All three movies, back to back with 20 minute breaks in between. I LOVE Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz but this one felt a little different. It felt more like a "modern big budget" movie but they didn't dumb it down or sell out. It just feels different. The wit is pretty much gone. In Shaun/Hot Fuzz, every piece of dialogue is important. Everything is relevant to the story and it's all just a big well written joke. This one was more of a typical comedy in the style of Edgar Wright, which is fine but it's just awkward coming from Shaun to Hot Fuzz to The World's End. Worst of the trilogy but that's not saying much. As a standalone movie, I'd give it an 7 or 8 out of 10. Can't decide but it's definitely above average and worth seeing.
I just really want to know if the 3 plan on doing another film together.
I just really want to know if the 3 plan on doing another film together.
Wright has said it isn't going to be the last. They're like best friends and they've been together since Spaced.
Wright has said it isn't going to be the last. They're like best friends and they've been together since Spaced.
It'd be cool if they do a Spaced movie but that's hoping for a bit much.
going to see this today, can't wait.
Here's something interesting, [sp]In pub number 4, the crossed hands, there's a sign saying 'Happy hour, 4-7', seems pretty coincidental, right? Well pubs 4-7 are the only times where all four friends are drinking, in the crossed hands, Andy finally starts drinking and has the shots, then in pubs 5, 6 and 7 they all drink a pint, but sometime before/during pub 8, O-man becomes a blank[/sp]
Liked it better then Hot Fuzz, didn't like it as much as Shaun of the Dead. I like how a lot of the lines were foreshadowing yet still managed to surprise me, and the final encounter was amazing.
Just got back from the theaters and something has been bothering me about the end scene. [sp]For some reason the end scene where Gary has a sword surrounded by blanks looked really familiar. I remember a thread being posted in the video section with a clip of an upcoming movie and it looked exactly like the final scene. I looked around youtube and I can't find it. But its so familiar, am I crazy?[/sp]
I liked Shawn of the Dead and Paul better but it was still good.
Another great movie by Edgar, jesus christ. I would buy tickets 30 times to see a Spaced movie. [sp]I actually liked how Pegg was portrayed in this. Sure, it wasn't as comedic at points, but they did a good job of portraying how sad a person like that can be. Coming out of college, I've seen a lot of friends go down that "glory days" road. The fight between him and Frost was amazingly well done. The ending was a little silly compared to the rest of the movie, but I loved every second.[/sp] If you look at it in one way, the Cornetto Trilogy and Paul are possibly the greatest satire genre films of the modern year. God damn.
I loved Simons acting in this movie. Besides Nick everybody else was a cardboard cut out
Got back from this about an hour ago. I loved it, especially when recognizing actors from Spaced, Shaun, and Hot Fuzz, not to mention [sp]Pierce Motherfucking Brosnan.[/sp] That really took me by surprise.
Yeah that was great, want to watch it again now to see what all i might've missed. Stands nicely with the other two.
So on top of having a released date like 2 months later than the rest of the world, I just found out Universal NL has decided to pull the screen release all together citing "low expected profits". I'm fucking livid.
Yeah, I was hearing it under performed on opening weekend. What the fuck? There's no good excuse for that.

Was never even planned to screen in Israel. Gonna download it when there's a DVD I guess
I was really weirded out by [sp]Peirce Brosnan, as he pretty much was playing my dad.[/sp]
I laughed so fucking hard at the line at the end. [sp]Fuck it.[/sp]
It's funny but [sp]even considering all the foreshadowing I didn't expect the world to actually end. I thought it was a clever metaphor of some sorts[/sp]
Same, I thought [sp] all the blanks were going to be transported away and that the original people just come back from a storage of sorts. I really didn't see the world ending coming and I thought that only the town would blow up. [/sp]
I was really hoping that [sp]the people that were taken would show up in a cage somewhere in the alien base, but then it turns out that they were all ground into mincemeat.[/sp] :'(
Any good!?
