The World's End - The final movie in the Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz Trilogy. TRAILER JUST RELEAS

Saw this today and, uh... Disappointed. I'd say 6/10 at best. Shaun of the Dead was good, Hot Fuzz was great, this was meh.
[sp]Action scenes were for the most part underwhelming (The fact that the blanks constantly tried to grope their faces just got weird after a while) and the movie in general was just a chronic "meh". The movie up to the introduction of the blanks was actually great, but the blanks and rest of the plot seem almost like an afterthought.
And at the end, Gary ditches the rest of his actual friends for their blank counterparts? He spent the whole movie desperately trying to bond with them only to ditch them at the end? I get that it's like he trying to repeat his past again with the past versions of his friends, but... Again, it just made me raise an eyebrow.[/sp]

I also just got back from seeing this and the feedback in this thread and high Rotten Tomatoes score really threw me off. I enjoyed both Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz but this one really didn't do it for me. It just kind of fell flat, I didn't find the characters especially likeable or the plot interesting. There were a few witty parts but nothing super memorable. Maybe I need to see it again, it just didn't click for me at all. I'd also rank it at 6/10, walking out of the theater I felt like I just watched a bad Dr Who episode with Dr Who-budget special effects to boot.
[sp]Damn that ending was depressing, I probably would've supported the Network[/sp]
Universal apparently thinks Holland consists of a bunch of filthy unwashed peasants (which is actually kinda accurate when I think about it) so no cinema release for us, boo!
Disappointed, I really wanted to go see this with the other unwashed peasants I live with. Oh well, the blu-ray releases in november so that's a christmas present sorted out.

you didn't miss much. the movie was decent but not really as good as hot fuz or shawn of the dead. also the ending was really weird and kinda crappy.
at least i learned a good comeback to when someone is trying to show me out of a fancy office
"garry, theres the door"
"that? it doesn't have a lintal, so it can't be a door without one, its more like a window, maybe a windoor?"

The World's End - Incorrectly teaching people about architecture since 2013
Great movie. Though I think that of the trilogy this was the second best, coming behind Hot Fuzz.
