I'm thinking of picking up an Orange Crush 30R to replace my pretty old and not-that-great Marshall 15 DFX. what do you think?
What is your budget?
The orange crush series aren't the best of the brand. (Otherwise orange is awesome)
If you want to stay around the orange's price range, I suggest A Vox Valvetronix 15W (Maybe the 30W one if yo you can go higher, it's also better because of the larger speaker)
Or if you want to play anything heavier than early heavy/trash metal, A peavey vypyr 30 would be you best bet.
Maybe even a Roland cube 30X the most reliable one, and it has the best sounding effects out of these(basically integrated boss pedals with 1 parameter).
I'm kinda torn between these amps as well, as I'm still saving up, and looking for used deals.

The Crush series are one of the better sounding SS amps out there, at least for me
Now I'm saving up for a Tiny Terror

The tiny terror is really nice, but don't expect "clean" cleans if you up the volume.
I've tried out the orange SS amps, they didn't sound that good to me, maybe it's just not voiced to my likings.
Guys, i need ur opinion about this amp :

I play metal, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Lamb of God, Metallica just fyi
Well, I've never heard of that brand, but I can say one thing, it says in your details "-A very clean sound" and that is not what you want if you play all that metal.
I have a Spider III 120w Jam. I don't know why people don't like Spider amps. I love all the preset models and stuff, and its got killer tone.

I've got a budget of about £150. I would love to get a higher end Orange amp, shame they're way out of my league. I'm also thinking of getting a new guitar as well, seeing as my Epiphone SG Special is being a bit strange at the moment. Probably something around £300 would be nice.
I got a piece of shit amp that came with a $100 guitar, and a mouse died in it the other day while i was on vacation, now it smells like the worst kind of ass there is.

I mean... Anyone want a free amp?

Marshall MG15CDR
Nothing special, but nice for my level of skill. (Low)
Same as mine :D
I'm going to buy a new AMP. I'd like Metallica, GnR, AC/DC and U2 and modern rocksounds, any ideas what kind I need?

peavey vypyr 30w or a roland cube 30w. pretty good amps for the price they are. dont buy a marshall MG expecting good tone, you will be severely disappointed.

I can recommend you some nice guitars around £300.
Just specify your music style, and what do you want from your guitar(features, looks etc.)
I'll help gladly

Like I said, it suits me fine, I don't need to play it loud, and the distortion is fine for Recreational playing.
If I were to start gigging and such, I'd bite the bullet. But for casual playing? It's perfectly fine.
I gots me a Roland Spirit 10-A, i'm almost positive these aren't made anymore, also sounds like someone rubbing thier hairy ass against your face, not a pleasent sound.

Like this except it looks alot worse and the silver is black, and as if someone shat all over it, second hand amps from family members aint fun.
I don't know whether to slowly get better and better amps or save up and buy a big Mesa Dual Rectifier.
Though I don't see myself saving £2000 for the Mesa Boogie.
I have a question regarding keyboards and amps.
Is it better to use my bass amp for my keyboard, or a regular guitar amp?
A lot of stuff that I play sort of has high bass. (I have a microKorg)
A Bass amp, Due to the speakers having a greater maximum excursion for the low end.
What I would do?, Get a Meaty PA Cabinet (Or a bass cabinet, DO NOT get a guitar cabinet, you will destroy the speakers) and a power amp if you want power.
Your korg will have line level outs so it will work with a Power amplifier - This will cut out a pointless pre-amp stage you won't need and get you a cleaner sound.
Crown, QSC and Yamaha Make NICE Power amps, but they can be pricey.. But they are stereo and can go into the multiple thousands of watts.
This Is what I would do anyway, if I was a gigging synth/keys player.
A Small Bass amp would be ample for home usage.
I have a quick question, I have a Marshall Bass amp, but I noticed that when I hook up my effects pedal to it and play through that with a regular six string, it sounds very good. Will playing a six-string through a bass amp mess up the amp?
Those things suck why does everyone have one
i'm trying to sell mine
I have no clue. People should just avoid them like the plague.
[editline]09:38PM[/editline]
I was always curious, that thing uses tubes, or it's just a simple solid state
EDIT: Hey, not my fault they try to cover up using "tube sound" in the descriptions, ok? Marshall MG also has "zomg tube sound lol"
Yeah, but the Vox Valvetronix series is actually good. Just make sure you get the 30watt or greater models. They have a certain feature (can't remember), that the ones below it don't.
My friend owns one and fucking loves it.

No
Infact some jazz guitar players do this.
The only reason you can't *really* use a bass through a guitar amp at any real volume is because the speakers don't have the excursion (Xmax, Xmech) to handle the bass. The other way round is fine.

Mostly rock, some Metallica and some other metal as well.
What about a Line6 SpiderIII 75? It costs around 550 dollars in my local music store, but I can probably get it a looot cheaper because of my friend who works in the company who sells instruments to the stores and In Flames, and other swedish bands.

to be honest theres no point buying high end amps if all your gonna do is play shitty pub gigs/bedroom practicing. if you actually are gonna do something with music, like get a recording contract, an amp like that is worth getting.
