You can use the Effects send and rturns to daisy chain amps easily without anything but extra cables. However, Doing any sort of large gig by stage volume is going to lead to a disgusting mix. - Get a reasonably sized amp good enough for small-to medium gigs and get a sound guy and P.A for anything bigger and your bands sound WILL be better for it. Did a gig last week, and I do the sound since I own and understand the P.A Gear, I decided to give a shot at running everything through the P.A and turning down the guitar and bass amps to just enough for us to hear each other because it was an outdoor gig. I don't think we've ever had a more balanced and ear pleasing sound. since every aspect of the sound could be easily controlled I was able to get each instrument to have it's own acoustic "space" - Sure it takes longer to sound check but what band DOESN'T turn up 2/3 hours early to get their shit together. I forget where I read it but a quote I once Read "Guitarists are a sound technicians worst nightmare, If it isn't big and loud it is no good" - or To that effect, And I totally agree. Once you start doing even 1 or 2 gigs a week you will find your 4x12 Half stack is going to become a complete logistics nightmare. 2x12 Is going to push more than enough air for any non-PA assisted Gig... I am a bass player and I gig with a 2x10. I've never been short of power yet. Once you have dedicated roadies and multiple trucks to carry your shite, THEN you can start worrying abot the looks side of things and invest in some fake cabinets. This post is getting to long :v: - You get the idea.
I have a Kustom Arrow 16DFX, my guitar is Gibson SG Special. Good for starters, no? Thinking of buying a BOSS MT-2 Metal Zone pedal. What do you think FP? Mainly I'd like to get a sound like Daron from SoaD
i dont get why people need so many amp heads. surely you can only use one at a time?
They're mainly for look on that sized gigs, like the amps on Metallica's stage are just empty shells with LEDs in the power light thing.
Nevermind It probably will suck, i've found a better one.

Old ass Marshall one.
I'm thinking of getting a new amp: Budget - around £300 Should be loud enough to keep up with an acoustic drum kit An effects loop would be nice I've been looking at some Fender amps as they seem like what I'm looking for, any other suggestions?

A Fender amp for me would be useless because of the amount of metal I play; a Crate might be useless to you because you might not want to play metal. Fender has great cleans, I don't like their OD sound at all.
I play alternative stuff mostly, some clean, the heaviest stuff I play is probably Them Crooked Vultures.
