You forgot to mention chocolate covered strawberries! <3
Too ordinary, chocolate coated chilli's any day :)
Dark chocolate thats got a few grains of salt scattered throughout is wonderful, brilliant flavour contrast. Same goes for caramel, should try it
Heheheheheee. Nahh, man. Sometimes I think the simplest foods are the best. Fruit by itself is dessert for me. Then add chocolate and it's just a supergasm of amazing. But I'm feeling adventurous so I might give it a go.

Oh, wait, now I'm kinda getting it. Like chocolate covered pretzels.
I've also always wanted to try chilli chocolate, must find some now. [editline]26th February 2011[/editline]
Oh, wait, now I'm kinda getting it. Like chocolate covered pretzels.
yeah i guess its kinda like that if you leave out the dough, its goood
I've also always wanted to try chilli chocolate, must find some now. [/
Make some, really not that hard. Just get a few chilli's, scrape the seeds out and dip in chocolate.
I swear its meant to be chilli powder infused into chocolate, not dipping a seedless chilli into chocolate, but whatever
Well you can put dried chilli flakes in but I prefer fresh chillies, give it a real freshness. Imagine the crunch and freshness of a pepper. Sounds weird but it is good.
I like meat, vegetarian food is nice tho.
You know what a fantastically tasty snack is? Roasted chickpeas. Easy to make, portable and really good for you!
Ooh, that sounds yummy. How do you do it?
Ooh! I've never had curry and I didn't realize that there was a way to make it vegetarian! Do you know a recipe?
what does curry mean where you come from? because this strikes me as a particularly stupid thing to say. with the exception of maybe steak (and even with that there can be exceptions) you can make anything vegetarian..?? [editline]26th February 2011[/editline]
What's curry taste like? Ooh, it's sweet? I'll have to try it then.
O_O
It's not my own recipe, I found it on Something Awful.
Besides the obvious fruits and veggies and stove-popped popcorn, I've made roasted chickpeas a few times. They're incredibly easy, not entirely classy, but not completely trashy. The hardest thing is making sure you make enough for the next day. The picture isn't mine, but it IS from this blog that has another recipe for roast chickpeas I originally found the recipe on tastespotting.com, which has a bunch of them (if you search for chickpeas you're bound to get a few). This is what I do. It's not very accurate, so forgive me. 1 Clove of Garlic Olive Oil Hot Pepper Flakes Can of Chickpeas Obviously, drain them and try to get some water off of them before you throw them in a pan of hot oil. I dice the clove of garlic and cook it in a bit in the olive oil in a pan. Then I add the chickpeas and the pepper flakes and toss them around in the pan for a couple of more minutes. Then I spread them out on a cookie shit with tinfoil and bake for 45 minutes or until they're crispy in a 400F oven. Once they start getting brown, watch them! They cook really fast at that point and its easy to burn. Like I said, it's not accurate but they're so easy. You can add anything to them, too. I've seen people add wasabi, cilantro, curry spices. as far as indian curries go korma is sweet, it's made with coconut milk and has next to no spice (if any? i'm not a fan so i can't comment much further!) general curry varies in levels of spice, from barely anything (e.g. bhuna) to burn-your-mouth-and-insides-out hot (e.g. vindaloo!). i'm amazed you've never eaten/heard of curry, here in Britain it's incredibly popular. and you can do anything with a curry, put whatever you want into it, have it as spicy as you want, and eat it with rice, chips, naan bread, chapatis or just on it's own!
Korma is lovely with rice and Quorn chicken pieces.

that's what i think. but i have many friends who do it! and they tend to order a really generic "red curry" or just "chicken curry", but if you're going to order from an indian why not make a good choice and get something a bit more interesting! still, their decision!! i'm a big fan of indian food meself. having to cut down on the spicy factor the past year or so since apparently i'm getting old and my body can't handle it any more. can't go wrong with a good chicken tikka biryani though - biryani is a rice dish with the meat, very mild, and it comes with a mild to medium vegetable curry that you can add as you please. also quite partial to a lamb bhuna! do you think we should have a "world food" thread(s)? i'd be tempted to break it into something like Italian, Indian, Chinese + Thai/Malaysian etc. or something? I guess we'll see how popular this place gets :)
There was the curry place near to where my sister lives that does the most amazing curries every, one is called something like a Moonlight Special Tikka or something. Basically a coconut milk sauce with almonds (bit like a Korma) but the chicken is marinaded in a strong tandoori sauce and it is spiced up a bit. Fucking amazing. Love the sort of korma curries (almond and coconut milk). Really want to go to India one day as true indian curries are brilliant, my other sisters boyfriends dad spends 6 months over there (he is Indian) and cooks the most amazing curries ever. Just unreal how good they are. Seems to be getting quite popular for a new forum, although seems to be a lot of very dedicated foody posters. Might be worth having a few different threads, like one for Western European (British, Italian, Spanish etc.), one for Eastern European (Russian etc.), one for Thai and Chinese, one for Indian etc.
What's curry taste like? Ooh, it's sweet? I'll have to try it then.
lol, well curry simply means "spice" I believe, curry as westerners know it is generally a spicy saucy food with chunks of stuff in it, I believe (like potatoes or meat).
I want to be a vegetarian. Life is a beautiful thing and to extinguish that is cruel and barbaric.
hummus kicks ass but watch out because some companies make it out of garbanzo beans without clearly labeling it as such and that stuff is strong and not like chickpea hummus at all
Tzatziki is fucking amazing as well. Made my own last summer using a pot of greek yoghurt, a cucumber finely chopped, juice of a lemon, couple of cloves of garlic finely chopped and a bit of paprika. Was so good...

Facepunch :allears:
Hippies! [sp]I'm kidding :h: [/sp] [editline]26th February 2011[/editline] Also by the way OP tomatoes are vegetables, not fruit :v: The Supreme Court (they seriously don't have anything better to do?) ruled that because tomatoes are generally served with meals rather than deserts they're vegetables.

I wrote in the OP that tomatoes were a fruit, haha. Wow, I was a clueless person when it comes to curry.
I've tried fake ribs at my vegan friend's house, the right kind are actually pretty good
