oh god it's 1:50 AM when did this happen?
ahh fuck, my mom wants me to eat meat. I told her im going to be a vegetarian for a week.
Fun fact for the Cooking forum..
The U.S. Supreme Court declared on May 10, 1893 that the tomato is a vegetable.
Stay classy everyone!
Made some butterfingers, wow it was surprisingly easy, it's basically a hard crack candy mixed with peanut butter, pretty crazy, huh? I always wondered wtf it was when I used to eat them, I thought it was some extruded crunchy layers stacked on eachother or something. Still have to make a chocolate coating, that's probably the harder part for me..
I've always found it funny that I can make so many amazing foods and always fail at making rice.
Made Aloo Mutter last night, it turned out great! A lot easier than I imagined it would be.

Does this count in Europe?
Okay, hi.
Butterfinger is delish. You're reminding me of the time I tried to make a chocolate frosting for a cake and failed. It ended up being a very delicious and fattening chocolate soup. It was basically chocolate bark, chocolate chips semi-sweet, butter, powdered sugar and... yeah, I think that was it. Holy hell was it good.
Course it failed as a frosting, haha.
But how's it hard to make rice? Put it in a pot. Put water in the pot. Put a lid on the pot. Leave on medium heat for 20 minutes. Bam. Done. Good rice.

rice is impossible
You could always cheat and just microwave it.
Also, pumpkin puree and blueberries makes for a fantastic smoothie. The pumpkin gives it an excellent texture and taste. I used 1 cup of pumpkin, a generous amount of cinnamon, 2/3 cup of water and 3 cups of blueberries and ended up with something pretty similar to yogurt or very thick pudding. :iia:
Would probably be even better with vanilla almond milk.

Rice cooker.
1 part rice
1 part water
Switch on and leave it.
You can come back 20 minutes later or hours after and it's still cooked and warm.
I eat meat, but my fav veggie snack is hummus! I made some and added some tomato paste and it tasted great!
Thanks for posting this. I recently went vegetarian and I've been looking for good food. Converted what are your most recommended items from this list. Have no gotten all the way through it yet just seen the thread and felt I needed to post.
Re-read it and see that it's more of ingredients and everything. Learned a lot about Tofu. I had my first veggie burger today, it wasn't bad it just didn't taste good. Very bland anyone know how to cook up a good veggieburger?
My brother brought over some "Beer Brat" Tofurky shit. I'm not strongly against Tofu (I think it's okay...but i definitely won't be calling it up to the big leagues in place of steak...)
Anyhow, i figured i would give it a try. It wasn't bad...but it definitely wasn't good.
They didn't really hit the flavor, or texture at all. It tasted like...well, not much, and the texture was super soft, which was kind of weird.

Still going to give a shot. Been reading up on it and it just absorbs flavor so I'm going to try cooking it for a while.
Personally, I don't like veggie burgers. One thing is about which brand you buy. Some taste a million miles different than others. I would love to try to make my own... are you asking how to make one from scratch, er what?
Fresh corn is the best goddamn thing I have ever tasted. If you have never had it, I suggest running around right now and find a corn farm and steal some. It's probably not ready yet but whatever. Last summer I worked a few hours on a small corn field my dad's boss owned, he paid me 40 dollars and all the corn I could carry. He had some new strain. You know white corn kernels that you sometimes find? Well it was made completely out of the white kernels with maybe 1-2 yellow ones. It was delicious, fresh corn is amazing, cooked or raw.
I have to admit some of the things here look very tasty, being a meat eater, though, I think it's cooler to rip apart meat with your teeth than vegetables... unless you chomped it like a cow.
But yes, some of this stuff looks about as nice as meat, I will try vegetarian stuff when I can.
Not to be a meat bandwagoner or anti-vegetarian or anything of the sort, but honestly, some of that stuff looks like it tastes horrible.
Yet, I wouldn't mind trying it.
as my beliefs are firming as I grow older, i'm deeply considering cutting out eggs and dairy too.
is anybody else here a vegan and would like to tell me how they're coping/living/adjusting to/with it?
Hmmmn, I notice Samosas are not included. It's an Indian dish.

It depends on the filling, i had a filling with chili powder, potato, cumin, some spice starting with T(Turgain or some shit). That was all, put the filling in puff pastry, quick deep fry and it was done. Quick, easy and delicous. (An terrible for you)

Turmeric or tamarind, probably turmeric.
Morningstar Asian Patties are delicious.
Today's diet so far: Peach halves (4) for breakfast, some museli for a snack, a banana and tomato soup for tea. :keke:
feels great, especially as in the other room there's a big bloody (dripped with blood) steak being prepared in the kitchen. it's disgusting.
I'm trying to convert myself to a vegan, any advice? Its cus I'm trying to lose weight

You can get whole corn cobs at any supermarket and they taste pretty much the same as fresh, just make sure the leaves aren't all brown.
