Let me set down a few things.
First of all, I go to an Art School in San Francisco, and I live in Daly City.
Since they are all artists, they approach it from both an artistic perspective and just for the fun of it.
During the Halloween outing we actually listened to a lecture on the Yokai, which are creatures of Japanese Myth and Legend, such as the [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tengu]Tengu[/url], and the [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kappa_(folklore)]Kappa[/url]. After that we stopped by a Manga store and a few figurine shops, and took part in a raffle held by the local video store for people in costume. The announcers were all women dressed up in Sailor moon outfits who wrapped up the even by performing the [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5G5bD2Do-k]Hare Hare Yukai dance.[/url] After that we all crashed at the club president's apartment where we ate pizza and played video games, most predominantly [url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l0vbjkuNhzs]"Fate: Unlimited Codes"[/url]. I left right after that.
Today I went to an actual meeting. The average meeting of Genshiken is to watch an episode of an anime together. They also arrange item trades with each other, such as figuries, books, etc. on their website.
