I wouldn't say that any music is better than any other, it's an entirely subjective thing. There is some good rock and even some decent metal around nowadays, at least if you look hard enough. Sadly a lot of good music in all genres stopped in the '80s.

I don't really care about the old hip-hop, 'cause it was probably good. I still think that all of that shit I hear on the radio today that gives be a fucking headache and makes me wanna blow my brains out should not be in the same genre as the music that isn't around anymore.

like I said earlier, if you only listen to the radio, you are not hearing the good stuff.
