What the fuck? That's a perfectly valid excuse Just because you and your friends can do shit doesn't mean everyone else can. And Jesus Christ can't you make a post in this thread without saying "Stop defending him for being funny" or other dumb shit.
If you watch the windwaker video you will see 90% of the time arin doesnt read anything at all what people or signs say. Then when it comes the time to enact those things hes completely lost and bitches about the game. He got the grappling hook and was like "LOL WHY WOULD BIRD PEOPLE HAVE THIS IF THEY CAN FLY" when in the speech bubble that hes skipping through says its for the pre mature people of their tribe to allow them to get around. Its not because hes playing with a friend, its because he doesnt observe anything about the game period.
I don't need to watch his Wind Waker lets plays to know Ego hates helpful tutorials. He's been saying it for over a good year in almost every episode of Games Grumps that featured JonTron. He even mentions hating tutorials iirc in the Megaman sequelitis. My problem was with his specific post, because that is a completely valid excuse and just because his friends don't serve as distractions when he plays a game doesn't challenge its validity. The only arguable thing is if this excuse applies to Egoraptor. And no it doesn't. I assume that he disregards the instructions in games purposely because he always claims to have a huge dislike for them thus that's the reason when ever he plays most games he gets his shit smacked constantly due to not knowing what to do
So basically you just proved the playing with friends is a shit excuse to how terrible he is. How are you going to even argue with the subject if you refuse to look at evidence that hes completely retarded period and doesnt even look at the fucking buttons in the corner. Hell he can't even get past the laser eye things because he kept going counter clockwise when the eye is going clockwise looking for him. Or hows about the fact that he cheated by looking up the walkthrough and tried to enter the password to get in the pirate ship without seeing the cutscene that gives him the password. Or lets talk about he completely ignored two buttons that are in plain sight in a room for a whole episode and got stuck there. The list goes on and on and on.
Anytime I come across their videos the intro is Arin making a bunch of random sounds over and over. Is that a bad representation?
If anything I find it funny that the guy who said LPs were the "lowest form of entertainment" became PewDiePie Clone N°1857308
I haven't seen it referenced in this thread, but Arin has said in the past that he was diagnosed with ADD.
I find it kind of hilarious how in the past year or so the internet's general opinion on egoraptor has done a full 180. I remember when he was the proclaimed king of newgrounds and now look at him :v:
And remember when everyone wanted him to win The Tester, because he was the only decent person in the whole cast ?
I find it kind of hilarious or so how in the past year or so the internet's general opinion on egoraptor has done a full 180.
being the king of newgrounds is like being the king of a garbage dump
Newgrounds used to be good, when youtube was basically not there to do what Newgrounds did, minus the 5 minutes loading times for you fucking flash to show.
He was there pretty much to act like a unique snowflake. Also, it was when he was just starting to show his ugly side, so I don't blame anyone for rooting for him. Egoraptor used to be such a cool guy; a talented young animator who made really funny cartoons. But the more popular he got, the more we started to actually know the man behind the mask -- Arin Hanson. Arin isn't Egoraptor. Egoraptor is the faceless and nameless man behind the funny cartoon. Arin is just some guy who hardly knows anything about video games but wants to be part of the industry.
Arin said himself that he basically got in the tester to be an annoying prick but once he was on set he changed his mind because he expected all the other candidates to be massive tools when in reality they were pretty nice people.
Arin said himself that he basically got in the tester to be an annoying prick but once he was on set he changed his mind because he expected all the other candidates to be massive tools when in reality they were pretty nice people.
Not that it helped him when the Tester intentionally made him out to be an annoying prick anyway just to eliminate him for drama's sake, if I remember right.
Enjoyed analysis, enjoyed animations and enjoyed jokes looking forward to the next one

Oh my god, this is bad. I always stop watching them and I forget how bad they are but man are they bad. [editline]3rd July 2014[/editline]
Arin Hanson is a condescending douchebag who's persuaded a game is only good if it doesn't teach you anything about how it plays and you only learn through glorified trial and error. He's been known to spit all over games with tutorials and text messages telling you what to do because they're an "insult to his intelligence", even though he proved many times he has no fucking clue how to actually learn the ins and outs of a game when it's not handfeeding him all the information. Long story short, Arin's opinions on games can always be disregarded on the grounds that he's a fucking idiot.
I know this post is ad-hominem but this raises an important point to keep in mind; Arin is a very old fashioned kind of gamer. He will struggle on almost every game that came out after the turn of the century, give or take five years, and there's plenty of video proof for this. He just simply does not understand modern gaming conventions. So that's why most of his opinion is the way it is. He's from a different era.
Not that it helped him when the Tester intentionally made him out to be an annoying prick anyway just to eliminate him for drama's sake, if I remember right.
That makes no sense though. I didn't even know who the Tester was before Egoraptor was on it. Why the fuck would they try to make their (arguably) most popular contestant look bad
That makes no sense though. I didn't even know who the Tester was before Egoraptor was on it. Why the fuck would they try to make their (arguably) most popular contestant look bad
They are dumb, they don't make sense. Nobody watched it after egoraptor left.
That makes no sense though. I didn't even know who the Tester was before Egoraptor was on it. Why the fuck would they try to make their (arguably) most popular contestant look bad
Nobody knows. He was the popular person brought onto the series and it gave it a lot of publicity and people watching it, but someone decided it'd be a good idea to make him out to be an antagonist while he was on the series for the sake of the show. As NotAName put it, no season since Egoraptor's has even come close to the number of people watching it since then. Traditional game show / reality TV logic backfired the fuck up on the producers.
What the fuck? That's a perfectly valid excuse Just because you and your friends can do shit doesn't mean everyone else can. And Jesus Christ can't you make a post in this thread without saying "Stop defending him for being funny" or other dumb shit.
Multitasking is hard, yes, and it's perfectly valid for people who do let's plays to slip up from time to time or not play as well on their own, but the thing is that I have yet to ever see anyone do as badly as they do. I have seen groups of 4 or more people playing games and all talking that do a hell of a lot better than just those two ever could. When I was a small child, I did better than they could. Game Grumps in and of itself is incapable of ever slowing down and appreciating or understanding anything. They are like the Johnny Test of let's plays, and this is what keeps them from ever understanding anything about the game they're playing at the moment. It's like they're afraid of having a single moment of not gameplay so they mash through any dialogue and go COME ON JUST LET ME MNGH Game Grumps is still funny on occasion but they're like junk food and they might as well be a podcast because the games, to them, are only there to be pretty colors on the screen while they talk about random shit, agree with each other on everything, and do dumb voices. They're not there to play the game. The game is there solely for them to feed off of whatever happens for their next dumb voice thing.
Nobody knows.
Okay, so I looked it up and apparently Egoraptor got onto The Tester because of popular fanvote. Since that season was in early 2012, it predated Game Grumps, so he was pretty much at the height of his popularity. However, the judges were against Ego since day one because apparently he'd said the PSP was shit in the past, and Tester is pretty much one giant clusterfuck of Sony advertising. So they intentionally edited the footage and tried their damned best to make him look like an asshole before kicking him off the game (the 'breaking point' that got him kicked off being when he seemingly abandoned his team in the middle of a catapult game, but he was actually going back to get ammo for them, something Sony intentionally left out). After he was eliminated from Season 3, they still stuck his name in the video tags anyway to get as much views as possible so people would get their series from browsing for Egoraptor before folks caught on. That's a pretty raw deal, man.
Ego bitches from his soapbox about tutorials insulting his intelligence -> Ego plays game and ignores the tutorials and as a result fucks about like an imbecile because he didn't pay fucking attention -> Ego then proceeds to whine that nothing was explained. Egos arguments regarding tutorials is rendered almost null and void because of this. It's like if I was shit at baseball but was preaching about how it's really supposed to be played. It's fucking infuriating to watch and makes him look like a right twat. I also love how he complains about not being able to see stuff. Like does he have the attention span of a goldfish? Like that clip he showed where he got hit from behind by the spike block in the ice cave. THAT'S ALMOST THE FIRST FUCKING THING YOU SEE IN THE ROOM! It ain't the games fault is dumb ass forgot about it. "Z-targeting make the game more complicated" l-o-fucking-l Of all the thing about Skyward Sword to complain about he chooses rolling bombs... and this is just after he finished saying that Skyward sword improved bomb handling.
Phone typos ho! I never had any real opinion on Egoraptor. I never saw his solo stuff and the very few GameGrumps episodes I saw though Jon was better. Buy after watching this it makes me think he's a bit of a twit. One or two of his points were totally valid, a few others made me see where he's coming from buy aren't conducive to good game design, and the rest were just... Dumb. Whether they were just hypocritical, based on personal preference yet considered objective flaws, or just flat out overreacting. I'm gonna give the benefit of the doubt and assume its because its an entertainment video so hyperbole is a means to an end, but I found myself diaagreeing with the majority of the video and getting sick of him ranting on a single point again and again. What really annoys me is that he's going to dismiss any criticisms of his video as Ocarina fanaticism.
because arin has been getting progressively worse since jon left. let's not even pretend that's a coincidence. danny never calls arin on his bullshit like jon did (in a friendly way). he needs someone to bring him to earth and he's not getting that with danny. they're both in the fuckin clouds
I totally noticed this yesterday when I watched a Wario World episode. Arin walked right by a ladder and Jon said "you walked right by the ladder and it makes me sad."
Hey skyward sword is a good game.
danny is too nice and friendly for arin.
I feel like it's because of rankings in popularity and standings in internet culture. Jon and Arin were both pretty big people, and they did this as a project together. Dan probably feels more "invited" into Game Grumps, and just wants to be polite, feeling it more like Arin's thing that he helps with. Because to be honest, I never heard of him before Game Grumps.
While that is very true, you also have to understand that taking on a Let's Play channel like Game Grumps, and even reviewing games themselves in Sequelitis, means that he should have at least been attempting to adapt to the situations and gameplay mechanics of all of these different kinds of games present to him while he's playing. And to be perfectly fair, he isn't doing much of that at all.
Hey skyward sword is a good game.
It probably would be without forced motion controls. Get back to me when that's a thing and we'll talk.
Hey skyward sword is a good game.
All the problems with SS can be summed up in this video that isn't some guy foaming at the mouth saying it's bad because he said so:
Ok since I'm getting tired of saying this, this will probably be my last post in this particular conversation. The excuse in itself is perfectly valid, the argument would be does said excuse apply to Egoraptor. I have no idea why people keep replying like I'm defending Egoraptor. I defended the excuse because he acted like because "x" people can do "x" things then the excuse can't be valid unless your an idiot. I wasn't defending Egoraptor, I really don't need another wall of text telling me Egoraptor sucks at games because he doesn't pay attention. I've watched several episodes of Game Grumps so I know he sucks. So please no more wall of text based on Egoraptor being shit at games
When you, a viewer, are willing to come up with excuses for him no matter how big or small that is you are defending the person. In this case saying "Hey h-he's talking with friends it's hard okay?" is defending him when the whole thing is Arin acting like a spazz when playing games and not paying attention. Why would you defend the excuse when it's clearly wrong? When there is clear proof in this very thread that even alone Arin is bad at games? What personal stake do you have in Ego? I can assume you don't have one- and the only reason you'd defend someone (or the excuse) who is (once again) clearly in the wrong is because you like the content they produce/find him funny. My comment stands, sorry if it upset you but when Arin himself is even jokingly saying "I am shit at video games" (his one saving grace from not being DSP) don't try to come up with excuses or defend said excuses. That makes you a idiot. Edit: Like christ re-read your initial post. It comes off as "Stop bullying poor-ego ;___;" when I haven't at all. Edit 2: Man this is dumb. Just like people who think just because a friends with you means your completely incapable of playing a game and doing well while chatting with friends.
Like does he have the attention span of a goldfish?
Yes, man, he really does. That comment I posted up there? It wasn't in jest, Arin is diagnosed with ADD.
Yes, man, he really does. That comment I posted up there? It wasn't in jest, Arin is diagnosed with ADD.
if anything that should make him less hasty in blaming the games for his own mistakes
I find it hilarious that Arin doesn't like waiting, yet did a 107 parts of an incomplete Sonic 06 playthrough on Game gurmps where most of it was waiting for them to figure out what to do. As to the actual content of the video, I never cared for Zelda. At least as a series. But he didn't at all touch on any reason I don't care for it. He must have the patience of a 2 year old.

So apparently, they ragequit a classic plateformer like Donkey Kong Country 2, but a really shitty game like Sonic 06 deserves over 100 episodes ?
