I'm having a hard time reading books, I want something as funny, satirical and interesting as the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, but the bar is damn high and most books just can't reach it.
There, that should also get the obligatory mention of thgttg out of the way.

It's not what you'd call an easy and flowing book (pretty cool to see how fucking much there is behind LoTR though).

must spread the word of lord Hunter S. Thompson.
I'm reading Good Blonde and others, it's a bunch of unpublished Jack Kerouac stuff. It's all good
just ordered the average american male by chad kultgen.
sweet.
I found a sweet thrift store down the street that sells paperbacks for $0.50 apiece. Hardcovers are only $1.50. I bought fifteen great books for only eight and a half bucks! Most of them were just old favorites that I still hadn't added to my collection, but I picked up a few I've never read, too.
Lolita is the best book I have ever read, hands down. A must read, an absolute must read.

These are really great, and I wish I could completely forget them and experience them again.

How good would this still be if I already watched the movie?
Looking around for sci-fi books in my town. The chain bookstore is severely limited in sci-fi.

If you haven't already, give Robert Rankin a read.
Also, There's no real point in mentioning Terry Pratchett, considering it's obligatory that anyone who can read, reads it.
Just started reading catch-22, pretty good so far. Was a little hard to understand at first for someone not natively english
Got Max Brooks "World War Z" audio book on spotify.
Reading is for pussies. :v:
I love reading the books Stephen King has written, i've read the entire Darktower series. What an unexpected ending that was.
I was reading The Dome but haven't got time lately to finish it.
Donald Duck is a good read when you're taking a dump.

Oh yea, I have a preorder on that. I should pick it up after I finish The Dark Tower
what are some good books like these?
http://www.amazon.com/This-Book-Will-Change-Your/dp/0452284899
http://www.amazon.com/Sh-t-Happens-Deborah-Lazarus/dp/0761144366

you don't have to read them from start to finish, you can just open to any page and read a small tidbit of information.
I read a book recently about the Soviet Union (Somewhat fictionalised) that was set in the 1950s - 60s, the Sputnik era.
Currently reading Gaunt's Ghosts, nothing like some good old grimdark warhammer

There's at least five hundred of these things, I'm just starting at the Lost Era series.
Started to read "The Forever War" by Joe Haldeman. Really good book.
Im trying to read Stephen King´s The Dark Tower series. Its ok, I quess. Not into fantasy books anyway though.
I just finished Dan Browns classic books; The angles and the demons, and the Da Vinci Code. Good books I got to say. The ending of The angels and the demons got a bit too cheesy for my taste. I mean come on. He survived that fall and explosion?
I also just finished the interview with the vampire. My brains constantly tried to annoy me with an image of Brad Pitt.
I also (not too long ago) finished Mika Waltari´s Sinuhe Egyptian. The best book I have ever read. Aboslutely fascinating stuff!
Right now I'm reading "Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut, and I love it. Once I finish that, I've got three books to read that I've started but have yet to finish :v: :
"Slaughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut
"The Forever War" by Joe Haldeman
As well as the "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" trilogy by Stieg Larsson
For the no comic books rule, what about Persepolis? (It's an actual serious comic book about the 1980 Iran revolution)
Just finished Catcher in the Rye, about to start reading Things Fall Apart (english class)

It really gets good around the 3rd book, in my opinion.
