This book is big and intimidating, but it is definitely a must-read. I bought it because the first few paragraphs got me hooked.
It really gets good around the 3rd book, in my opinion.
Alright, so its like the other King books then? The story picks up in the last 2 pages

Yea pretty much. The first book is kind of brutal, but after that's it's really really good.
I just bought "Magician" by Raymonde Feist, I'll be reading it after I finish the 3rd book of the Liveship Series by Robin Hobb.
This book will determine if I purchase any more of his books :o
what are some good books like these?

you don't have to read them from start to finish, you can just open to any page and read a small tidbit of information.
anyone? they make good christmas gifts
I finished Dance With Dragons. Any other suggestions for things to read to keep me busy for the next 3 or 4 years? :v:
Currently reading "American Desperado" about Jon Roberts, a Mafia guy in the 70s, who then became huge in the cocaine trade in Miami, THEN became an informant and gun-runner for the CIA. Co-written by Evan Wright, one of my favorite writers and the same guy who wrote Generation Kill, which is one of my favorite books.

The Discworld series, assuming you haven't already read them.
Right now I'm reading "Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut, and I love it. Once I finish that, I've got three books to read that I've started but have yet to finish :v: :
"Slaughterhouse-Five" by Kurt Vonnegut
"The Forever War" by Joe Haldeman
As well as the "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" trilogy by Stieg Larsson
I loved Cat's Cradle. Although for some reason, on my eBook version of it, it said "phallus" where it was supposed to say "cube."
I find shit like that all the time in eBooks.
I have an idea for a novel.
There would be a new kind of disease that makes dogs and cats extremely violent. The disease would spread among the dogs who live on the streets of Rio De Janeiro. The disease wouldnt make humans crazy, but would be lethal 70% of the time. And even though the disease would be harmless, still the dog packs hunting in the dark streets of Rio would be a huge threat to the city.
Something like that. Kinda like a zombie story, but different. And the dogs wouldnt be zombies though.

Okay. Now write it.
I already started, 2 weeks ago.
I'm currently rereading my old childhood favorite series The Edge Chronicles. I don't remember so many people getting killed when I read it as a kid, some of this shit is pretty brutal. I'm on the eleventh and final book now.
The Pendragon Series was the greatest series I have ever read. If anybody has any recommendations to books with similar amounts of adventure and addictiveness please tell me.
