Things I deal with far too often
Wow, you've covered pretty much everything.
Only thing I could think of that I hear plenty is
"Always go with ported, its louder"
or
"My sub is getting hot but I don't hear any clipping"
"My amp is getting hot but I don't hear any clipping"
or possibly
"I can set my gains by ear, I don't gotta spend 140 bucks on a dd-1. Fuck that"
Usually followed by
"That peice of shit amp keeps going into protect."
"Better go get a bigger shitty amp to slap on my stock electrical and start to bitch and whine again"
Or back to the second 2 quotes.
I had a person tell me today that an oxygen sensor doesn't really do anything and you'll be fine without it.
And it makes 4.3 V6's sound like big blocks.
I die a little inside whenever someones coolant reservoir is empty and there's no sign of any coolant in the radiator, and when asked if they want to add to it they say "nah I'll pass"
Like really? 6 dollars isn't worth preventing your engine from killing itself?
I guess not...
A female friend of mine: "When you lose control/can't stop on ice you put it into Park right?" Because someone had told her to put it in neutral and she got it mixed up. Her car is front wheel drive anyways. I said don't touch it at all, just leave it in drive.
And the worst part is she did it once when she couldn't stop on an icy street. Luckily the front tires stayed on the ice....
And she obviously doesn't claim to know anything about cars so it just kinda fits the thread.
Yeah, I was in an automatic, its not like I had much of a choice.
Most automatic cars won't let you start the engine in anything but park. Some kind of security feature, I suppose. So he's somewhat right depending on the car. I know Mazda and Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep at least do this.

EVERY automatic-equipped vehicle allows you to start it in any nuetral gear. This mean you can flick the lever into N or P and start it, in any car. The mechanism that locks it from starting is called the "Nuetral Safety Switch" for a reason.
That was more or less his point though, Park is not the only thing you can put it into to start it.
Oh ok I missed the point a bit. My bad. But yeah you're right it starts in neutral too.
I used to drive a wheel loader which only started in park. Maybe he had too many hours in one of those?
Pretty much every ricer ive ever talked to doesnt know shit about cars...who the fuck puts a spoiler on a 93 corolla with an automatic transmission..

A spoiler won't change much on most street cars anyway, either it be manual or autotragic won't really matter, if he wants to put a spoiler on his car, let him, it's his property and his tastes.
my mom- "My brakes are squeaking, i need to oil them"
My friend actually did oil his disc brakes (albeit on his mountain bike) due to squeakiness but the next hill he went down, straight into the bushes. No joke

You CAN make a street car that could def use a spolier for the down force. The thing is though those huge spoilers are def not needed, The small lip ones are effective or low profile ones. When i see shit like one that I know it's blocking 90% of his rear-view theres no point. Especially when he is coasting light to light

Big spoilers aren't even legal in Norway :v:
So I'm glad I never have to see anything like that ever.

Haww yeah extra grips man
Enuff downforce 4 da moon yo.
A friend of mine though that since the engine is side mounted (I forget the proper term) it isn't a inline engine.
In other words
This is a inline

But this isn't

She also got confused when I started talking about which tire make power on my Bronco. Hurr durr tires don't make power
I have so many friends that call wheels "tires" and vice versa. There's the wheel, and there's the tire. The tire goes on the wheel. What's so hard about that?
And yesterday my buddy Josh who doesn't understand shit about cars was standing around while I was helping him install his rear suspension (new shocks/springs), and he's talking to a couple of his friends who were watching curiously.
"See, that's the control arm... and that's also the control arm... and that's the brake housing..." *points at caliper*
Yep, that's the BRAKE HOUSING alright.
Oh god that sounds like my friend Josh
Always calling things the wrong fucking name
"Gotta unhook the water pipes"
"I bought some new wheels to put on my car" (Two wrapped up tires in his floor)
"I'll take off the wheel bolts" (What? Are you driving a Volkswagen?)
It's rather annoying. Really gets on my nerves.
It took me 5 months to learn my buddy Josh that the term was "lug nuts", I'd heard him say "wheel nuts", "wheel bolts", "bolt caps", and "wheel holders" prior to that. Unfortunately when I bought my first BMW it took another 4 months to make him understand that the lug nuts were now actually wheel bolts. He was pretty pissy when I corrected him after spending so long teaching him otherwise.
RIMS YO
tires==wheels

Also It pisses me off when I call the aircleaner on a carb an aircleaner and a friend goes all retard on me like its not a fucking aircleaner
THUH WUT THUH WUT?HUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUHUH
Technically it's not an air cleaner, it's just a filter. The air's just as bad as it was going in, it just catches things large enough to get stuck in the fiber goodness.
ergo, kind a sorta cleaning the air of particulates large enough to be filtered.
Hardly cleaning anything, particles small enough to pass through a standard car air filter are still rather harmful. I mean, water can pass through it after all. How clean can a piece of cloth or fiber really get air?
Cleaning and filtering should be considered as two very different things. The "filter" is merely a particulate capturing device used to prevent objects that are larger in size/density than air from accidentally entering the combustion chamber, nothing more.
