cleaning the air of particulates large enough to be filtered
The definition of filtering according to google: "Pass (a liquid, gas, light, or sound) through a device to remove unwanted material."
The definition of cleaning according to google: "Make (something or someone) free of dirt, marks, or mess, esp. by washing, wiping, or brushing." (none of which a filter does)

To be fair, washing can be defined as flowing past or against, something that air does when passed through a filter.

Sigh, the fact of the matter is is that it's an air FILTER, this is boiling down to semantics.
But it all started when someone said that cleaning and filtering in this context couldn't mean the same thing, when in fact they can.
Anyways, back on-topic...
"Can you guys 're-charge' my battery? I think it's leaking. You can just add it right?"
"I only want to buy one new rotor."
"I only want to buy one new rotor."
Uh.... This is understandable in some situations. If my left brake pads wore down and fucked up one of my rotors but the right was fine, you're damn right I only want one rotor. No sense in buying a part you don't need. Rotors aren't one of those "May as well change both" parts like tie-rods, ball joints, or other suspension components.
Plus rotors can be expensive as fuck
Technically it's not an air cleaner, it's just a filter. The air's just as bad as it was going in, it just catches things large enough to get stuck in the fiber goodness.
Isn't the 'hat' on the carb, containing the filter, the air cleaner?
That's what I meant

"....only one rotor because I only bought one previously. Now the other side is too worn and I only want to buy one new rotor."
I took my honda to mavis one time and got my axle replaced cause it was rusted to all fuck, My regular shop told me the front axle is rusted to fuck when i went to them later. Turned out they never replaced it. Headed right over there and they refunded my money.
Fuck quick shops, fuck em all
I have nothing to contribute to this thread aside from the fact that every time I see it's title it reminds me of this:

Understandable, as I said. Rotors don't evenly wear out, replacing both at once when one is fine is kind of wasting money.

People who FAR overprice a car and get pissed at lowball offers.
Yeah, it's a B18C, cool. I can get one of those, complete swap, for $2000. I can buy the Rotas for $500. I can get the DX coupe (It's not even an EX, let alone the Si it's trying to mimic) shell for 1000 in similar shape. Assembling all of this didn't cost you $4500, I can guarantee that. *sigh*
Plus

I see this SO OFTEN in Southern California, it's not even funny.
SoCal is a terrible place to buy a Honda, 240SX, hachi roku, or RX7. They're all so overpriced it's not funny.
