What a classy guy. Seriously, it's like he just radiates pure class.
Even Simon likes him
Also his English is 100x better than what I thought it would be.
Dude went to college in the US I believe.
Yep, wikipedia says Berklee College of Music and and Boston U, so he'd have to speak English pretty damn well.
even ellen dances better than britney
She's wearing stilettos...
Why don't we have celebrities like PSY. He looks as classy as fuck and still pulls off dancing like that.
he sounds so... well you can hearhe feels a bit unrespected from the way he goes: "by the way can i introduce myself? not just dancing?"
felt really bad for the bloke because it's as if he got rounded up as a circus attraction
It does suck when you think about it. This is like, his first big thing in the west, and we are all over it for the video more than anything (but the song itself is fucking catchy and instantly recognizable). Western media are treating him more like a performing animal than a actual musician, which is really all he is.
Hey if we are lucky it might open some people up to Koeran media more and they might actually realise just what this guy is over there. But I doubt it.

South Korea has English in it's schooling curriculum because of the popularity of entering business schools. A lot of the teenagers and young people can speak English really fluently.

[sp]He never thought he would make that look while on camera twice in one week![/sp]
Britney m'dear, you can at least TRY to look like you're enjoying yourself and at least TRY to put SOME effort in.

Like he said "dress classy, dance cheesy".
You'd think Ellen would actually give an interview for the guy, not only just have him on the show to show some talentless bimbo to know the dance
I mean common, what the fuck
Perhaps the reason she can't dance as good is because she's wearing high heels?
Just an observation, i'd like to see people dancing like Psy or any other dance that involves a fast pace and synchronization.
Most of the dancers in the Gangnam Style video were wearing heels.

It might be that dress. It's like it's made out of starch or something.
And this is why Ellen is the best talk show these days.
It was rude of the hosts not to introduce him or ask him to intoduce himself.
"Show us the dance"
"By the way can I introduce myself?"
DANCE MONKEY DANCE
She's wearing stilettos...
Well PSY himself said it shouldn't matter, and she really could have taken them off if she thought it did. That and she was making awkward faces and just being general unpleasant, especially in comparison to him and ellen.

Yeah that was pretty rude. I'd have had him come and sit down on the couch and introduce him and talk to him, then get on the topic of the dance and do what they did after.
eh, gangnam style is ok. the video is fun, but music wise it's not different from Sexy and I know it.

This is something I posted in another thread:
See this is what I hate about what people see in the song. It's not mindless and has some serious message behind it. While PSY utilizes humor and looks ridiculously silly, the video is a critique on Korean high society. It says so in the article and even in the name of the song.
It's the one thing that I don't like about this song's popularity. People are taking it out of context and think it's just a silly pop song when really is not at all mindless.

Actually the song appealed way more to me once I found out what it actually means. It went from being a ridiculously catchy and fun pop song, to being something I actually respect.
And it's something that people don't ever consider, especially since they can't understand the lyrics. The song isn't like an LFMAO song, it's not just catchy and made for the sake of being made. Gangnam style has an underlying meaning; music-wise it is very different from Sexy and I know it.
I can't wait until there are some actual interviews with him on western television, he deserves to be known as a person and not just a cheesy dancer.
I was really surprised at the lack of an actual interview myself. I started watching the video expecting to become acquainted with the creator behind the hilariously brilliant KPOP song that all of us are aware of.
Not sure if it's just me but it seemed like Psy was a little annoyed that she didn't even introduce him. When he said "I'm sorry can I introduce myself?" he had this look on his face like "are you kidding me?"
It was rather rude.
she did introduce him though, she said "PSY come on out here"
Simon just has to be rude where ever he goes
Well I didn't know that. The lyrics are probably fine, but it still doesn't really change the music entirely to be "very different" from Sexy and I know it, it only changes one aspect to set it apart. The rest is mostly the same.
Except that "Gangnam Style" is the first successful attempt at satirical social commentary in the Korean Pop music industry, and "Sexy and I Know It" is about how LMFAO thinks they are sexy and know it.
she did introduce him though, she said "PSY come on out here"
the bare minimum for an introduction
at least chat with the dude first
hes a much cooler guest than britney
ellen is my favorite lesbian
Is she also faking an English accent now? Fuck me in my left eye socket
Is she also faking an English accent now? Fuck me in my left eye socket
If he's faking an accent, trust me, it's completely by accident.
It happens to me a lot, I talked with some Americans for a couple of months straight on Ventrilo like 4 years back, I haven't sounded the same ever since, and PSY attended both Boston University and Berklee College of Music, so he's used English verbally a lot.

"She"
Britney
not PSY

I think it does though. They might not be acoustically different, but music isn't just audio. It's the meaning, the artist's intent, the relationship with the audience, etc. It's like any other art. That's why these two songs are very, very different.
