I have no reason not to believe you. Just quit using it. Your liver turns the codeine into morphine. Taking 100mg/day is like taking 15mg morphine. And yet another reason to not get dependent on it: It's withdrawal effects may cause very painful ejaculation. Also, you can lose 2 to 5 kilos per day.

Is 15mg morphine bad? What problems can I expect from long term use?

If you're so depressed, why not get professional help? Get a boyfriend/girlfriend. You get a son to fill the void you have, but you need some form of sexual relationship and to not just live alone doing drugs. Assuming any of this is true, go to a local clinic or halfway house and seek help.

the tolerance to weed usually goes away after a while of not smoking, you might want to try that again.

I cut back on a few things, like making sandwiches instead of paying the school for my son's lunch, and now I can easily afford the codeine. It's legal, otc, and very cheap. A week's supply isn't more than 3-5 euros.

Where are you anyway OP? I'm just curious, as far as general area.

I did have a friend who is a medical student look at it, and she told me to just take painkillers, don't put too much stress on the ankle, and wait for it to go away. I started off with ibuprofen but the pain got worse, I couldn't really go to a hospital (the doctors often require a bribe to get real medical attention, although they are supposed to be free) , so I switched to codeine.

And forget about setting any sort of example. The physical side effects of codeine tend towards things like itching and constipation, and nausea and vomiting, but the psychological effects stemming from (and, ironically, leading to) dependency range from paranoia to depression. I shouldn't have to tell you drug-related depression isn't going to help you any on top of pre-existing depression. Symptoms of withdrawal from it include insomnia, being a wicked bitch, chills, and muscle spasms. You have a problem, and now your kid has one too.
