What is it with humans and their obsession over total annihilation, especially religious people?

2000, 2012, 2020, 2038 (actually this poses a threat to *nix's still using a 32-bit date/time system so it's [i]sort of[/i] real), 2050, 20something. So long as we have fools wearing tinfoil hats and believing in imaginary rulers (EG: god or similar person) bullshit like this will always be around. I partially blame Weekly World News.

A better debate, what IS the end of the world? Asteroid obliterates us is the typical theory. Some think its total economic collapse. Society fails. I personally think it'll come from war. I doubt we would be wiped out, but so many of us that society is gone and we're all force to live like that episode of Family Guy, you know, when peter learns of Y2K from that chicken? LOL
