He was getting to this point in dead space 2.
Also, poor Isaac. He never gets a goddamn break.
Yeah I feel like Isaac somehow ticked off a high being and this is how it's getting back.
Co-op guy doesn't really exist
calling it now
It's coop, but in singleplayer the other character acts as a "guide"
Interesting to see how Ellie grew her eye back after Stross took it out with a Screwdriver.
it is set like 1000's of years from now
it is set like 1000's of years from now
The first game takes place in 2507.
You guys know that they recently successfully attatched a robotic eye to a man that allowed him to see right?
Or it was something related to curing his blindness, but still, if we're close now, they'd probably have that tech 500 years in the future :v:
Dead Space is horror, it's horrific but not scary. Intense, grotesque and disturbing. It's Aliens to Alien, one is about getting the shit fucked out of you, the other is about nearly getting fucked, then fucking them right back.
Altman be praised
I should probably finish Dead Space 2 sometime.
I'm only like three chapters in or something.
Something tells me finishing DS2 should be a goal before playing DS3, seeing as I have no idea who all these people in the beginning of the trailer are and I have no idea what's going on.
Also, am I the only person who kinda dislikes the decision to give Isaac a voice? I kind of liked him being the bad-ass space engineer Gordon Freeman in the first one. :v:

I think it was needed, it's iconic of Gordon Freeman, but it only works because...I'm not sure why it works. But with Isaac, he's in a far more visceral situation, there's no established Rebel network or anything to say "Yeah, that's a Strider. Don't forget to reload"
There's just a small, blind child with footlong talons running towards you.
"They're the pack, shoot them!" I don't think so.
Also, it's entirely possible for Ellie to have a cloned replacement eye, that was the entire point of the fetuses on the Ishimura, replacement parts for the miners incase anything went wrong.
Whoa, really? I never knew that that was the reason for the fetuses. Shit.
But with Isaac, he's in a far more visceral situation
Was that intentional, or just a bizarre coincidence?
The co-op partner Carver is all in Isaac's mind. I'm calling it.
-snip-
The co-op partner Carver is all in Isaac's mind. I'm calling it.
So when said co-op partner shoots something, it's really Isaac using his magic mental space bullets killing the thing the partner shot at?
That's the best plot ever. I'm not even kidding.
Was that intentional, or just a bizarre coincidence?
I'll say it was intentional now, because it's actually pretty damn good.
Something about the new winter suits isn't right. Well, cool enough. I think they tried to make them look old, heavy but I think they aren't there yet. Also did they really had to recycle parts of the Vintage suit for Isaac's new suit?
At this point in time why doesn't isaac get some real armor?
His light engineering suit is just that... light and not for combat.
uhh isn't the engineering suit really fucking protective though because of the dangerous situations an engineer would have to work in?
[editline]9th June 2012[/editline]
Also you can get like police armor and stuff in dead space 2

But isaac gets punctured like a piece of paper.
But isaac gets punctured like a piece of paper.
Only when the light is red. Otherwise it's a vacuum-proof, blade proof piece of kickass hardware.
The co-op partner Carver is all in Isaac's mind. I'm calling it.
Once Isaac destroyed the markers, he lost the dementia that it caused. I will be willing to bet that the new marker will make him hallucinate too but for now he shouldn't have any insanity moments.

the wiki says the Advanced Suit is meant for Special Forces operators in deadly environments
so
yeah
I'd say it's reasonably protective
The Necromorphs are an interesting concept for a hostile alien. Until I played Dead Space, I wouldn't have thought that you could form those sort of monstrosities out of Human flesh and bone.
Imagine having to hide from Stalkers in a blizzard, as you hear their chirps and howls whilst they converge upon your position. They always had me on edge.

once you upgraded the Seeker Rifle it was basically Hunting in the Congo: SPESS EDITION
Sassy black partner who don't need no Ellie.
When I first heard there was co-op I was hoping Ellie would be player 2. It sucks how she's a damsel in distress for the first part of the game. Now I hope she doesn't end up dead/become a shitty weak character.
DS3 will never be scary with co-op, imagine playing silent hill or something co-op with a friend, all the effort in making the game scary is just wasted
the funny thing about being scary with a friend is that you properly end up shooting at your friend thinking it's a enemy.
So Dead Space 3 won't longer be more inside but outside? Strange. I think it might have some dark areas to keep in the spooky parts.
First trailer about Co-Op? Well crap, I loved the first DS, because it scared you by it's atmosphere, that feeling "You're alone on a dead ship filled with hell knows what". Second Dead Space was more into action than horror, sure the game gave us some jump-scares, that's all. And the third one is going to have co-op? Seriously? I remember reading interviews with creators where they been saying "Yes we understand, that the second game was about action above horror. We won't repeat the same mistake again, and the third game will be focused into horror." And they add co-op after those words?

I'm confident in Visceral. even if DS3 has been subject to EA fucking it up, I believe that they'll nonetheless be able to do it solidly and make it add to the overall gameplay. besides, story-wise it'd be kind of strange if Isaac was a fugitive yet nobody was actually hunting him, and if that more or less necessitates at least a couple human enemies, it'd also be strange if Isaac - an ex-merchant marine - was too stupid to take cover.
