Horse shit, with a full uniform you don't have to render the underside of clothing and shit. Its actually easier with full clothing on then off.
Plus boobs the size of a planet must be pretty hard to render.
lol it's a videogame there is no historical accuracy
I mean ones set in the past. Movies are also guilty of this, like One Million years BC. Where they have fur bras and dinosaurs for some reason, with the historical consultant complaining about this.
I mean ones set in the past. Movies are also guilty of this, like One Million years BC. Where they have fur bras and dinosaurs for some reason, with the historical consultant complaining about this.
Oh come on we haven't seen a film like that since the 70's
but it didn't make the game any worse.
no, not the gameplay, but it did make me think "any outsider with no knowledge of the game who were to walk in the room and see me playing this game now with faceless, objectified women as the characters would think i am a weird pervert/archetypal nerd" would have been better if they were just wearing normal clothes i mean, tekken is horrendously sexist too but at least half of the female characters wear normal clothes, not just their underwear or weird armour sex gimp fetish gear
Horse shit, with a full uniform you don't have to render the underside of clothing and shit. Its actually easier with full clothing on then off.
render=/=design Also you can enable two sided material which eliminates the backside rendering problem.
I think why they do skimpy clothing is that it's easier to design a character with little clothing than it is for a full uniform. :v:
details of human anatomy and proportions, muscle and skeletal structures are far harder to model/design accurately and persuasively than some baggy clothing so no you're wrong
I mean ones set in the past. Movies are also guilty of this, like One Million years BC.
i mean, tekken is horrendously sexist too but at least half of the female characters wear normal clothes, not just their underwear or weird armour sex gimp fetish gear
I think some females in mk do have bsdm fetish.
details of human anatomy, muscle and skeletal structures
which don't exist in female video game characters you can't be thin as a stick and have giant tits
details of human anatomy and proportions, muscle and skeletal structures are far harder to model/design accurately and persuasively than some baggy clothing so no you're wrong
Yet again desgin =/= model Also any AAA character modeler knows anatomy very good, otherwise they wouldn't get hired in the first place.
which don't exist in female video game characters you can't be thin as a stick and have giant tits
And still have amazing agility at the same time.
And still have amazing agility at the same time.
Men with muscle mountains still can bend their elbows too
I think some females in mk do have bsdm fetish.
freaks me the fuck out haha i dunno who plays mk and seriously thinks "ooh yeah i'd love to get some of that chick in purple laytex with the thighs the size of tree trunks"
Yet again desgin =/= model Also any AAA character modeler knows anatomy very good, otherwise they wouldn't get hired in the first place.
they might know anatomy just like i know advanced level calculus but do i use advanced level calculus? no it's obvious i don't, and it's obvious they don't use their anatomy lessons either th89 if i remember correctly was actually in an anatomy drawing class, compare what he drew compared to videogame artists and you'll see how much artistic liberties they really take
freaks me the fuck out haha i dunno who plays mk and seriously thinks "ooh yeah i'd love to get some of that chick in purple laytex with the thighs the size of tree trunks"
To be honest most of the women in MK are too hilariously fucked up to be attractive any way ( just look at mileena)
freaks me the fuck out haha i dunno who plays mk and seriously thinks "ooh yeah i'd love to get some of that chick in purple laytex with the thighs the size of tree trunks"
Chun li or whatever her name was from sf4 comes to mind.
i think i need more pictures before i can make an honest opinion [editline]10th May 2011[/editline] yeah
To be honest most of the women in MK are too hilariously fucked up to be attractive any way ( just look at mileena)
Yeah, they are all pretty much generic... Distinct only in their choice of garment color. Except Frost, a SubZero counterpart (Deadly Alliance). There are probably more but for some reason I remember this one..
render=/=design Also you can enable two sided material which eliminates the backside rendering problem.
Even with that theres the simple fact that you have design ahead for this, stretching the texture material just right to fit on the clothing just right or it looks totally fucked. You have to do that anyway but when you're repeating a texture on a moving entity its really bad looking. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
they might know anatomy just like i know advanced level calculus but do i use advanced level calculus? no it's obvious i don't, and it's obvious they don't use their anatomy lessons either th89 if i remember correctly was actually in an anatomy drawing class, compare what he drew compared to videogame artists and you'll see how much artistic liberties they really take
They take a shit load of artistic liberties, it annoys the hell outta me. It never used to but after my eye scarring drawing class where we drew a nude model, I can safely say they're full of horseshit. [editline]10th May 2011[/editline]
which don't exist in female video game characters you can't be thin as a stick and have giant tits
Not all games are guilty of this though!
TH, curious as to what you'd think of characters like Lara Croft. Sure, her... proportions were initially quite exaggerated, but over the course of the series her personality has been developed quite well - and I think that's what made the games so popular. She is a character that'd be intimidating to most males - she can kick practically anyone's ass, she's very well educated, intelligent, witty, and dangerous, in more ways than one. I think she was, in fact, the first major female character in video games to embody something other than 'damsel in distress' or 'anime fighter with a leather strap as an outfit'.
They didn't really design video games for girls.
Yeah, games are only for men. The ladies best stay in the kitchen. ಠ_ಠ
If all games only had Male Characters I am sure that at some point someone would complain saying that it's Sexist.

It's there just for the sake of choice, it doesn't play any role so you can't really judge if it was a good or bad execution since you can pick any. In oblivion you can be a disfigured flamboyant male with rainbow hair and no one will give a shit.
Oh for fuck's sake. Anyone in a tight ass suit will show ass, can we agree on this?
Why are they in a 'tight ass suit' in the first place? Because the developers put them in it to pander to their white male audience. I see this argument a lot, actually - "It makes sense in the universe/canon/storyline for them to be dressed in skimpy/skintight/no clothing!" - and it's always complete horseshit. Who wrote the canon or universe? The developers did. They control literally everything in the game and there is absolutely no excuse for them to include such things.

Everyone kept posting about people like Snake and I finally just wanted to end it by saying, ANYONE in a tight ass suit, WILL show their ass. End of Story.
Three things: -It's really easy to dismiss this kind of stuff when it's happening to other people. An inability to understand that not everyone shares your (white male) experience doesn't make you more rational or enlightened, just selfish and myopic. -Your revolutionary new suggestion of "have you considered the status quo?" is neither of those things. Women and racial minorities have been considering your point of view their entire lives because you are dominant and it's thrust upon them at every opportunity. Amazingly enough, some of them aren't content with being second class citizens! -Lastly, your argument that "it's never going to change so get used to it" has been used to stifle criticism of segregation, slavery, limited suffrage, and down the line pretty much every systematic injustice in the history of humanity. All of those things HAVE changed, and they've changed because people thought they were wrong and said and did something about it. Yes, there were people like you who said it was pointless and they should just get used to being treated shittier than you and that they were "crying crocodile tears" but guess what? They won anyway.
I rated you dumb but meant winner, I am so sorry.
Well considering the main demographic of games is a male audience, catering to them would obviously be a better idea. I wouldn't call it sexist really.
So by your logic all people want to see their own sex. If i had my way every half life character would be naked with bulging breasts. But thats just me.
So by your logic all people want to see their own sex. If i had my way every half life character would be naked with bulging breasts. But thats just me.
gordon freeman, dong swaying in the wind with not a word coming out of him, with bulging breasts
