haha wow this thread. of course it's sexist as fuck, like 90% of all modern media is.
Well considering the main demographic of games is a male audience, catering to them would obviously be a better idea. I wouldn't call it sexist really.
and people wonder why women don't play video games
[img_thumb]http://www.frumsatire.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/bug-spray.jpg[/img_thumb] oh man you're right
"Deep Woods" sounds suggestive :q:
Yes, but the vast majority of (male) gamers get mad if you bring it up Privileged people don't enjoy having attention called to their privilege
Gerald! The peasantry are questioning the privileged again! We must do something to stop the ungrateful sods!
Also this thread is literally a who's-who of misogynistic gamer cliches
it's like the sa minority thread all over again
Also this thread is literally a who's-who of misogynistic gamer cliches
who's-who?
http://dictionary.reference.com/idioms/who%27s+who ?
but cliches aren't people so how can a thread be the best known people of cliches
It's like jazz I am anthropomorphizing the cliches
Guys my Medieval 2 Total war game is gender equal. I had a priest who was a woman in disguise and she ended up getting elected as the pope. More gender equal than in real life because there hasn't been any female popes (That I can recall of)
It's like jazz I am anthropomorphizing the cliches
exactly like jazz
I am the thelonius monk of posting
you sometimes stop posting, get off the chair, dance for a couple of minutes, then post again?
she needs a big strong male jungle guide to protect her then shes all set
Concept art of tomb raider reboot: My mind is full of fuck. Why. The character is like... A gaming icon. Less silly. But :geno:

no no no obvious they don't have a hair stylist on that team cut everything below the ears
What's wrong with it? You're mad because it's less insulting to your intelligence?
Um, no. The character as she looked since the 90s was instantly recognisable. I grew up playing Tomb Raider with my Granny. I find it odd that they'd want to completely change how she looks, even if she was a bit of a massive example of what this thread is about.
she consisted of squares in the 90's, that would look ridiculous in a modern game
They kept the general appearance the same right up until the most recent game: In the later games they were trying to make her like Angelina Jolie in the films which kind of ruined it though.
There should be more games where you play as a woman imo, and not just because blah blah feminism, just because it's something different
yeah it looks kind of ridiculous right up to the last pictures i'd much rather they try to keep the elements of the human anatomy in shape
They kept the general appearance the same right up until the most recent game: In the later games they were trying to make her like Angelina Jolie in the films which kind of ruined it though.
And then I notice the increasingly low-cut top. My argument is invalid.
lol she had a six-pack in the first couple of games

I like 'em realistic.
There should be more games where you play as a woman imo, and not just because blah blah feminism, just because it's something different
It's interesting that the progressive movement has become so successfully marginalized by conservatives that even people who express something totally reasonable like "there should be more female characters in games" or "I'm a vegetarian" often hasten to add that it's "not about feminism" or "not about animal rights."

Also, for what it's worth, I instantly recognized the new version as Lara Croft the first time I saw it.
