I can't stand Toms. Some people can pull them off, but the vast majority of the people I see wearing them look extremely feminine. Plus, they also have a tendency to wear shin high tight pants that don't do the shoes any credit.

I saw one guy at the mall today who had long hair but looked GOOD with it because it was only about shoulder length and was also wavy. It looked super clean and he had some rad facial hair to go with it.
Probably the only good looking shaggy guy I've ever seen.
When they have like a beard and they kinda look a bit like jesus or a biker or a heavy metal dude (a proper one, not some lanky teenager with a metallica shirt) then it can be awesome and look good. In almost all other cases long hair is bad.
