IMO if passing people are complimenting you about your aftershave you have too much of it on. It should only be smelt in very close proximity.

I only have girls compliment me in my cologne (of which I have a pretty extensive collection) when I hug them or put my arm around them.
in my case i am either walking in a very close proximity to them or hugging them. sometimes i am in a windy place and they can smell it much more strongly, though

things go in and out of style
peacoats weren't in style for the last seventy years they've been civilian fashion, probably only half of the time were they actually stylish (not to say they were ever unstylish, though)
and northfaces are very, very, very high quality jackets, probably the most long lasting peice of outerwear you can own

Mine's only an inch or so long but I JUST got it cut to that shape so I'm gonna let it grow out and see what happens

Oh wow, I was at prom yesterday and people said I was the best dressed. It makes no sense because there were guys there wearing Prada suits and shit like that. But it didn't really make things any better because I was sitting at the bar drinking pink lemonade the whole time. :(
