It was 2 degrees, coldest day so far this year I think. Quite alot of girls were wearing them and some other guys were as well. The only people that made fun were those 4chan "LOLOLOL I TROLE YOU" guys and mates that wanted to be cunts. I don't understand why they make a big deal out of wearing scarfs.

Well probably the reason for both of them saying it is just to piss you off, which apparently worked. Don't really want to get into your bullying issues but everything has some kind of association you can pick on; scarfs and skinny jeans are gay, boots are for the trench coat mafia, video game t-shirts are for hopeless nerds.

The point isn't that scarfs are gay, it's that it's fun to call you gay for wearing a scarf. It doesn't really matter what you were wearing, if they could abuse you for it and it was funny, they would do it.

The problem is stereotyping, I mean the general public sees you as hopeless nerds with no sense fashion if you wear game shirts. My experience at least, 99% of the people who wear game shirts have horribly looking shirts and dress horribly in general. There are exceptions.
