Found a really old book, anyone know anything about it?

Keep it away from bright lights, it'll wear away the colours. Looks interesting , though.
I have a really nice copy of a book detailing the workings of wireless telegraphy from 1910. I'm thinking of building myself a set.
Is that your ebay ad op and you're hoping for one of us to gain interest and bid on it?
I inherited a bunch of old books in Russian from my grandparents, some of them apparently over 50 years old. I've also got a 92 year old bible.

It belongs in a museum!
Actually that wasn't only a joke. If you're afraid to open it, take it to a museum or a library. Those people know how to handle old books.
It has a picture of a flower
Lets turn this into the old books thread.

so, does anyone know what this book even is?
Perhaps a stash of your parents favourite books/poems or a previous owner's collection of own books but forgot this one. You should get someone to check the value of it, it could be worth something.
My grandfather on my mum's side was a Polish engineer who came to the UK before the second world war, and I can only assume that's why we have this really old book on calculus in polish in one of our cupboards.
In Ovid's Metamorphoses, Acis (Greek: Άκις) was the spirit of the Acis River in Sicily, beloved of the nereid, or sea-nymph, Galatea (Γαλάτεια; "she who is milk-white"). Galatea returned the love of Acis, but a jealous suitor, the Sicilian Cyclops Polyphemus, killed him with a boulder. Distraught, Galatea then turned his blood into the river Acis. The Acis River flowed past Akion (Acium) near Mount Etna in Sicily
Now I remember it. I recall hearing that story before.
