iPhones are just a status symbol
Actually no, The new iPhone is so much better then the previous one that it honestly justifies the upgrade. Oh.
I've given up telling people who have recently acquired a new phone to get a case for it before you do anything. "I will", they say. Next month, whadya know it ends up getting broken.
Can anyone justify buying this iPhone if you bought the last one, or the one before that, or even the one before that, for the $750 it costs off-contract?
Who cares what anyone buys? If they can justify it to themselves it's enough for me.
iPhones are just a status symbol
Nah. There's a bunch of stuff you don't get with android. For example, I like being able to make music on my phone, something the iphone is far, far better at. Thanks to the lower latency and Audiobus it's miles ahead of Android in these categories, and the app selection for music apps is way bigger. It also has a bunch of OSC supporting apps that can be used for midi control which is really cool. On a more subjective note, I prefer the general layout of the iPhone and the UI over android. And the closed platform actually does make it a bit more of a secure buy, unlike some Android phones that can lose support quite quickly. There are more differences between iPhone and Android devices than a quick overview would suggest. Some of these are of course in the favor of Android, others in the favor of iOS. Being any kind of fanboy is always stupid.
:'( [editline]19th September 2014[/editline] Would have been hilarious if the screen cracked.
Literally everyone I know who has an iphone has a cracked screen.

I never will understand people who are willing to buy something like this simply because its new and there are plenty of people like this. Just because you dont think its a status symbol does not mean other people dont and Ive had the misfortune of meeting some of these people.
I've pre-ordered games before. Hang out with friends, stay up all night and play video games. It's fun.
Literally everyone I know who has an iphone has a cracked screen.
honestly imho if a costly phone breaks that easily I'd call it a defective phone it should handle more than being dropped

I was just saying there are legit reasons to buy an iPhone over other phones, disregarding the brand and "status". A lot of people seem to think everyone who owns and iPhone is some kind of a massive douchenozzle which is a bit unfair. [editline]20th September 2014[/editline]
honestly imho if a costly phone breaks that easily I'd call it a defective phone it should handle more than being dropped
Since we're already going galore with the anecdotal evidence, I've had my iPhone 4 for like three or four years and dropped it numerous times and it's still quite pristine.
iphone boxes aren't even that hard to open what the fuck You're supposed to hold the lid, and the box slides down into your other hand
He was standing, on live TV and in front of hundreds of people in person, give him a break.
Today I learned that australia apparently has their own Perth. That's weird.
Today I learned that australia apparently has their own Perth. That's weird.
And it's quite possibly the worst city in Australia. Too far from everything, insanely expensive, backwards as fuck, everything closes at 5pm, get's way too hot, 37c (93F) only a few days into spring. It's only good for if you're in the mining industry or want an incredibly dull lifestyle.
And you know, a convenient device people use in their daily lifes.
There are better smart phones that are also cheaper. The only reason to own an iPhone is being a mindless drone bragging about having an iPhone.
There's a small town 1.5 hours away from me called Perth (Ontario). I was a little confused at first.
Australian accents and you were confused?
I've pre-ordered games before. Hang out with friends, stay up all night and play video games. It's fun.
Wrong thread?
Fuck iphone
There are better smart phones that are also cheaper. The only reason to own an iPhone is being a mindless drone bragging about having an iPhone.
Or because you like iOS and other Apple software, or because you like the design, or some other reason. That's like saying that the only reason why you don't own an iphone is because you're a mindless drone who talks down to people for liking something you've been told to dislike. [editline]20th September 2014[/editline]
no, hes referring to waiting in lines possibly being fun with friends spoilers you're still waiting in a 1+day line for a phone lol
So? If he thinks it's fun and likes the ambiance and what not it creates, why does it matter? spoilers you've wasted much more time than a day browsing an internet forum for videogames lol
I just want to add: shit packaging
Who cares if he waited overnight for a phone? If he wants to do it what's the big deal? Maybe some people wouldn't do it, but not everyone is the same.
