As opposed to what, feeding fat americans?
Stop it. You're not funny.
they are loads of factors stopping Africa from becoming a newly developed country and we have to tackle those issues one by one before we can expect them to turn it around.
Africa isn't a country, but I can agree with everything else you said.
Africa needs a unified government.
Funny thing is that with the amount of resources they would have along with exports they would be unstoppable compared to a fully unified Europe or possibly Asia
But the way continent was divided up between tribes was sloppy and half assed which results in all the problems you see today from there
But then it would be larger than America... and that wouldn't be too popular
They still can't do anything for anyone except give us wedding rings.
I'm sure it helps them, but it just seems that many of the things we do make no difference in the problem.
Well actually I don't give a shit about africa
Let them kill each other. Whateva. A lot of countries have already wasted to much money in Africa.
If anything, the problem is that there are dictators hogging all of Africa's natural resources. A common misconception is that they don't have anything of any value there, but in actuality they have access to vast amounts of gold and diamonds hidden away in inaccessible areas of the country unreachable due to the lack of infrastructure. If a government or 2 like the US were to step up and help those countries, they might be able to advance. But that doesn't seem like it would really work. Someone would simply overthrow the stable government and they would be back where they started. Plus, that sounds a bit like the bullshit the US government used to go in Iraq. *sigh*
Can't feed them too much. Their stomachs won't be able to handle it. You'll have to feed them little things before we get onto the bigger shit.
Then again, I guess you should probably be wondering why they're starving in first place. If it was always like that, humans wouldn't be inhabiting that continent right now.
Well actually I don't give a shit about africa
I don't think i do either, but do i want millions to die.
ahh nuke them, what have they done for me *munches on chocolate bar*
I am all for helping people, but I say it's best to let the weak die.
feeding doesn't solve the problem, getting education and/or a job will, but there are lots of people that think that they're stealing their jobs and so on, other way to help would be trying to get more industry to africa
Just let them die. They're worthless and we need to focus on our own problems.
Just let them die. They're worthless and we need to focus on our own problems.
yeah, like eating chocolate, or nuts.
Alot of woman over there get raped...
Kick them in the womb.
I think OP should stop eating forever
yeah, like eating chocolate, or nuts.
What?
The greatest problem with nuking africa is all the dangerous fallout that will drift all over the world.
You see, back in the day the European countries raped Africa for all it had and left it to die. Now we, (and by we I mean the United States) feel it's our duty to help them out.
I know just cutting off resources to them would be wrong, but I somewhat agree with the op. Were spending resourses to keep them alive, but nothing is getting better for them in terms of living conditions, and government and what not. It's like keeping a person in a coma alive. You pay tons of money, but have little chance of improvement. We're just wasting money. (Technically we're not wasting it if we're keeping people alive, but right now I'm just using the term on a larger scale) We should cut support and let the region settle out. Eventually someone is going to grab power, and establish a government. We just have to influence the right government type.
If someone gives you food everyday with no cost for you. Are you going to do anything to change?
America is doing just fine as far as food goes. Yeah we have homless people who have to go through a lot to get a meal, but I'm pretty sure there are few in America as bad off as people in Africa. If we can help, that's what we should do.
Yes I think it is pretty much pointless right now. Food really isn't what Africa needs, Africa needs economical stimulation. That is something America CANNOT help with. The fact is, no one wants to start a business in a country where no one can afford to buy anything. Where there is a counterfeit version of your product for 10 times cheaper.
A lot of people aren't looking at the strategical advantages to helping a country like Africa. If we gave them support and aide, we would most likely have a strong ally if they actually managed to get on their feet. Africa has the potential to be a thriving country, it just doesn't have the economy. It's stuck in a perpetual wheel of poverty right now.
Before you can honestly help the African countries, you need to get rid of the warlords and corrupt governments who just steal it, sell all the aid and use the money they get to buy more guns to steal even more aid.

This.
I don't know why people try when it's stolen anyway.

Because its a way for out government to maintain a relationship for trade I think to get imports
I am all for helping people, but I say it's best to let the weak die.
wow i've never seen a more blatantly self-contradictory statement in my entire life.
Because its a way for out government to maintain a relationship for trade I think to get imports
Most of it will get stolen and sold for gun money, anyway.
We already have pretty much enough food in reserve and the ability to produce the food to feed at least one African nation, it's just logistics that's the problem. Transporting it to these nations and then the willingness of their leaders to allow this aid, and how it's distributed is pretty much why there are a lot of starving africans.
Let's feed them nukes.
Let's feed them nukes.
Stop eating please
Stop eating please
It WOULD save everyone a lot of trouble, though...
Haha. No. I kid.
