Pure american culture...
wait, does that mean that America DOES have culture?
The whole economic situation is where a lot of ignorance arises. Economy isn't completely about money. The United States still has the worlds largest economy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_the_United_States
The problem is that technically it belongs to the arabs(in terms of invested money, it's hundreds of billions) and the chinese(in terms of foreign currency reserves of china).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_the_United_States
That's why you're in the center of the world, which makes you think you're better than any other country on this planet. This has happened tons of times in human history, it's natural, but still annoying as fuck!
wait, does that mean that America DOES have culture?
No, that means sarcasm!
Hey look once again someone brings up the debt and "economic failures" of the United States. Just like they did in the 1930s and the slumps before that.
Except in the past the US had no real long-term competitors economically speaking. Now we have China which is rapidly catching up to the US' industrial power and influence, while the US remains on the same spot China just keep growing further and further. Not to mention that it's fairly obvious that the US had a massive debt before during and after WW2, as was every other country, but in times such as these when the only wars they are in is small scale shit that got out of hand for a decade it's obvious someone is going to bring up the debt. A superpower certainly shouldn't have a debt that exceeds its own GDP.
I'd consider beatniks and by extension everything that came from them(punk movements, rock to a reasonable degree, the hippy movement) highly "American" but what the hell does that mean? honestly what the fuck is any country's culture, really
No, that means sarcasm!
You cannot outsmart the sarcasm master I think right now you're being ignorant for the sake of it. No modern culture today is 100% pure. None. Not even your precious Greece.
That "American" culture which is ,in short, an Europe-Mix. A bit taken from this, a bit from that, but nothing actually good.
You're a moron - Captain Canada
You cannot outsmart the sarcasm master I think right now you're being ignorant for the sake of it. No modern culture today is 100% pure. None. Not even your precious Greece.
Did I ever claim that?
Did I ever claim that?
then you cannot claim America has no culture

Of course, by doing this everyone will close up shop and leave since it's not economically viable to keep their business there. Besides, China is at an incredible 3-4 trillion GDP, while the US is barely clinging to it's 13-14 trillion GDP, oh no they're getting closer!
I am interested in this CULTURAL PURITY concept I think it could be possible, but it's unlikely DER UBERCULTURE
then you cannot claim America has no culture
I never said so, god damn it, I said it has a culture, but not remarkable!
I never said so, god damn it, I said it has a culture, but not remarkable!
you're still threadshitting.
I never said so, god damn it, I said it has a culture, but not remarkable!
As said before, Hippies, Woodstock, fucking rock and roll. Those are pretty remarkable.
OP - Go to Disney World. Awesome place, but it's PACKED in summer with Japanese people and other foreigners. Doesn't matter though just means longer lines. Best themed rides in the world.
you're still threadshitting.
If I am threadshitting, then what's nivek and SeasonedHerb doing? [editline]9th February 2011[/editline] with all due respect!
As said before, Hippies, Woodstock, fucking rock and roll. Those are pretty remarkable.
And popular culture such as every amazing movie the world enjoys, output by America. Inception was pretty fucking remarkable.
contributing That said, NY's museums are great.
NY's museums are great, but OP didn't say if he is leaving Miami. To really experience different culture a trip from Miami to New York City would induce that.

Do you realize that human rights has absolutely no fucking relation to how well ones nation is doing monetarily? Just look at the Soviet Union, had terrible consideration for human life and wooptidoo it was on the same economic level as the US in just a couple of decades. And hell, China practically owns the world. US included. They produce everything, export everything and are the backbone of many economies. It's cheap to import rather than manufacture so obviously many countries choose the former. It's not as simple as just looking at wikipedia, see that it says the US has more money than China and instantly claim retarded assumptions.
Find Michael Westen, kick some criminal ass?
Oh just shut the fuck up about culture and economy, it got really old.
contributing That said, NY's museums are great.
true, posts like "USA>all" contribute to further proving my point...
true, posts like "USA>all" contribute to further proving my point...
Yes, cause my sarcasm > your sarcasm.
true, posts like "USA>all" contribute to further proving my point...
And what's your point again?
South Florida blows, don't come here. Go northeast
South Florida blows, don't come here. Go northeast
Parts of it are good for tourism, but other than that yes it does suck.
true, posts like "USA>all" contribute to further proving my point...
uh did I say "NY's museums are the best museums in the whole wide world?" I don't remember doing that
And what's your point again?
And your point was? Hippies and Rock n Roll?
