The first season is not the best. It gets much better later on. Some people that I know skipped the first season and started watching the second and didn't miss anything.
Season 2 was SO shit.

Lost S2 sucked, but better than first.
Heroes S2 was awesome, although killing off most of the characters didn't do much good.

But Adam was kinda right, we need something to wake humanity up.
Season 3 had better have like massive power on power battles kind of like the end of season 1.

Most people who watch Heroes agree that season 2 didn't come anywhere near season 1.
