Has Peter lost his absorbing ability or not? I'm amusing not because it seems that Mr.Petreli doesn't have it.
Also, Episode 8 was prety disappointing. You could technically not watch it and just go on to episode 9.

What are the odds when peters powers were absorbed, he managed to take Mr.Petreli's power stealing power, which he finds out when he accidentally takes some other persons power. Then, he meets up with his father again, who is unaware that peter has his power, so he allows him to get close, which gives Peter the opportunity to steal all of Mr.Petreli's powers. Because Mr.Petreli loses his power to regenerate, he becomes paralyzed again, and dies because he has no life support (Much like how Adam died).
Probably unlikely, but i really want to see how it all turns out.

At Xim-Woem, he wouldn't be re-paralyzed. Adam's power completely healed him - if Adam's power was stolen from him, he'd be vulnerable, but he'd still be alive.

But it takes time for the power to manifest, so maybe Mr.Petreli wasn't able to take it away as soon as he gave it to him. Any way, what do you mean, the person doesn't have to use the power for Peter to absorb it, he just absorbs it if they are near.

And Adam turned to dust because his age meant that his power was the only thing keeping him alive... Arthur has already been healed, he wouldn't be paralysed again. If Peter stole his powers, Arthur would just be normal.
