It has been hinted at. The only example I can think of now is after Peter gains the ability himself.
I just watched the 11 episodes of Season 2 in a row @ my mate's house because he just rented them so he could watch Heroes with me again and it wasn't that bad of a season. Lots of character development with Claire and Sylar and Matt, and the only parts I could have done without were the boring parts in feudal Japan.
So what ever happened to like half of the characters? Like West, and Micah's cousin.
I still want to find out what happened to Caitlin, She was most likely killed but still. I think Hiro is the catalyst, nah, I don't know :(.

I don't think they would give Hiro a role that major. He's usually in the background making sure the timeline sticks to being normal.

The romances seriously sucked. Feudal Japan went on WAAAY too long.

She's in an alternative future so I guess that pretty much equals death, I didn't find her particularly interesting anyway.
They should name Season 3 "Retcon" instead of Villains.

the bits with peter were awesome in ireland, after that it went distinctly downhill, maya was crap, BAD NAME was crap, claire was crap, sylar was boring, micah was as annoying as ever, so was molly.
HRG was just awesome still
