It seems big dog is using a 'Pentium', sort of wished they'd stated which Pentium.
Looking at the year the BigDog was made (2005), it's likely one of these: Pentium 4 Prescott Pentium 4 Prescott-2M Pentium D Smithfield Pentium D Smithfield XE
I think there is more behind this video than we see. I think it's a sad story.
I saw something like 3d text and tacking in fringe where it says fuck this thread and the robot leaves the building.
Honestly the engineer probably cringes more than any of us every time he pushes and shoves the robot, I mean him and whatever team worked on the thing are the ones who probably poured thousands of hours of work into the thing. To put something so complex together and then knock it around like that is something that would put me on edge every time, I swear.
I think he'd done it a thousand times before, and it never worked. Now that it does, it probably just makes him happy the fucker can finally be bothered to pick it up again without falling over or shutting itself down or killing everyone in the facility or whatnot.
I wonder. Is that silvery cylinder in its frame meant to be its head, like some sort of high-speed camera? 'cause with the frame enclosing it like a hood, it kinda reminds me of the E-100 series of robots from Sonic Adventure. All it needs is to be powered by a trapped birdie.
Pretty sure the spinning bit is a LIDAR module, might be wrong on that though. EDIT: NINJA'D!
It'd be pretty terrifying to knock one these down, think you won, and then it makes that ominous whirring sound and sits back up in that aggressive way I want to see one on a huge scale now
I want to see one on a huge scale now
Unfortunately the Square Cube law applies to robots as well (at least as far as durability goes, don't know if motor strength scales with the square or the cube) so you're probably not going to see real life building-sized robots any time soon.
[vid]http://i.imgur.com/ONIxhUE.webm[/vid]
Anyone else notice it's the same bearded guy in every clip? What a dick.
Almost looks like irl Euphoria when it stumbles through the snow.
Damn that's really impressive. I can't wait to see some real applications for this stuff.
You mean LIDAR or Atlas?
You mean LIDAR or Atlas?
I'd assume Atlas as i'm sure LIDAR is used in Self driving cars. Probably wrong though.
That thing is fucking strong. Did anyone of you notice how fast the pushup was?
Anyone else notice it's the same bearded guy in every clip? What a dick.
He even looks like an evil villain.

It's like a real life representation of Euphoria physics.
I, for one, welcome our new robotic overlords. Edit- Dun goofed
