Wow, I can't even begin to say how much the fucking thick headedness of our mods is blowing my mind right now after reading the screen shots of the refugee camp discussion/appeal on the first page.

For example, on a rational level I have no problem with homosexuality but due to the culture in which I was raised the idea produces some level of emotional disgust, even though it's not right. In some people that reaction is so severe it leads to violence. Most of us (particularly GunFox, Benji, and Linelor) have a similar reaction towards the idea of pedophilia. Now, I'm thinking even a pedophile is going to have that too. The cerebral, rational opposition and the gut reaction work in concert to tell them "don't do this." The more they expose themselves to pedo material, the more desensitized they become to it, and the more the gut reaction decreases. And with that gone, it becomes easier to rationalize away the cerebral side as well, and FUCK BABIES

The thing is, there is no way to tell how many pedos there are because it's not socially acceptable, while homosexuality was not socially acceptable and still completely isn't, people don't get put in a jail for admitting they are homosexuals(in countries that are not ruled by religion). Say there was someone who would love to murder someone, fantisizes about it and maybe even dreams about it. He has not committed a crime as long as he doesn't follow through with his fantasy to kill another human being or plan to commit a murder(conspiracy to murder). This is the same case, however instead of a murderer it is a pedophile, he probably would like to have sex with a child, but he does not because it is immoral/he doesn't want to deal with the consequences. I do think that pedophilia is very disgusting, but as long as people do not act upon their fantasy/desires it is not an issue because no one is being hurt.
