Prime Minister Smurfy today announced to a press conference in London that the UK has declared war on the German Empire.
"We can no longer stand for Germany's playground bullying tactics. They have threatened our South European colonies, they have threatened an invasion of Northern Europe, and they continue to expand their military power. Well I say it has to stop. We have launched a pre-emptive strike to take out Germany's ability to invade our friends to the north and to defend our South European foothold."

In light of recent events, the People's Republic of China has decided that the best course of action is to assist it's now vulnerable ally in it's war on the Germans. China does not wish to see it's close ally fall to the might of such an empire and has called for it's men to be ready to sign up for duty as soon as possible. Although relations with Germany had increased not long ago, China does not approve of Germany's aggressive demands so forces have gallantly pushed west into Europe. China hopes for a swift victory with as little unnecessary death as possible.

It's the English Channel, you can cross that in a rowing boat, heck, you can swim it fairly easily.
