Because the original version is superb and it doesn't include your standard "MUST INCLUDE SEX APPEAL IN EVERY EPISODE" mentality that's present in a lot of anime. Also it's somewhat mainstream.

Don't do that, the manga is based on the anime. Not the other way around. And the manga doesn't have the same storyline as the anime.
