I really enjoyed this anime a lot. I remember always saying "holy shit didn't see that coming" in the first season, and most of that did carry through the second season.
Very original in my opinion. Not the Knightmares and shit, but everything else was pretty damn cool.
I was really rooting for the Japanese Liberation Army in the 1st season, I guess I just like traditional military appearance rather than this whole "armored mech" thing.

Unless it's Patlabor, Armored Trooper VOTOMS or Dougram, don't expect real life military tactics and techniques like combined arms and bounding overwatch to work in any mecha anime.
