The holocaust didn't happen :downs:
Thats what he/she/it/nothing said
I wish people would stop associating slavery with the civil war to the point where it overlaps any discussion about the actual war. Kind of like how holocaust discussion always gets in the way of discussion of WWII. They're two entirely separate things that are related.
The only main difference was more production of weapons and more men drafted, previous strategies couldn't be applied or adapted due to how broken the system of war became.
You really have to be shitting me on this. The Civil War gave way to the creation of the Gatling Gun, a very 'modern' variant of older weapons used by the Chinese and Romans. Repeating rifles, Minee Bullets, and the dawn of Ironclad Warships.
You're just as blind as a fresh dog fetus.
I'm reading these as Magic Tree House lines in my head
What do you mean checked? Do you think that all the crooked and downright corrupted operations and maneuvers done by the federal government have been uncovered? You're just as blind as a fresh dog fetus.
No not all, but our level of corruption is fairly low, excluding the black panther escapades and tsars.
State rights are still flawed due to the federal governments involvement and over-reaching of everything in this damn country. I frankly don't care about bike paths and tree plantings, the state doesn't control that much in the whole picture.
Exactly, the Civil war did nothing to improve states rights. It only worked to strengthen the federal governments control. That's what makes it important, it was a defining moment in the evolution of US government.
Except that the holocaust led to World War II, and all, but let's overlook that and speak our minds
No it didn't.
Except that the holocaust led to World War II, and all, but let's overlook that and speak our minds
Uh no it didn't.
Uhhhh, we realized that marching in giant blocks wasn't the smartest of ideas.
Which is weird because you'd think we'd have figured that shit out from the Revolutionary.
Slavery was the backbone of the south, they weren't going to let it end. Plus the Civil War wasn't about slavery, it was about state rights. The Civil War also marked the dawn of the modern battlefield.
Too bad good old American and European dogma and traditions prevented doctrine to catch up with technology.
if you hate the civil war than why is your picture of the civil war magic treehouse book
He joined just to make this thread (seems to happen a hell of a lot lately), the avater was fitting. But the series still rocked.

I frankly don't care about bike paths and tree plantings, the state doesn't control that much in the whole picture.
That's because the North won :downs:
What do you mean checked?
Except that the holocaust led to World War II, and all, but let's overlook that and speak our minds
lol More like the Holocaust was a totally separate agenda of the Nazi Party.
It's a misunderstood war, that's for sure. I'm going to take this time to say Lincoln was a piece of shit and I hate how people idolize him.
I'm going to take this time to say Lincoln was a piece of shit and I hate how people idolize him.
Buchanan was a piece of shit. He threw soldiers at a bunch of Mormons in Utah instead of actually dealing with the crisis between the North and the South. He just passed the ticking time bomb to Lincoln to deal with.
Whenever I talk to an enthusiast they always perk up and babble on how most people overlook the civil war and that many great strategies and moralities were born on those fields. But I call bullshit, if the north didn't declare war the south would've followed suit with the rest of the world and let slavery end. Instead of letting slavery end peacefully, war was declared and both the north and south are still facing repercussions to this day. Because of the civil war immigration and production of non weapons became completely stagnant. The Civil war is just as unnecessary as any war the United States would declare today. "What if the south kept slavery going?" . Morality is something that takes years and patience to grow, eventually people would be penalized spiritually as well as mentality. Slavery has always been wrong, but committing mass murder to end something faster is a much bigger crime. "Its much harder to admit wrongs than stepping on broken bones" - Confucius
Uh, 'waiting it out' wasn't really a good method in that time period. Most king(s) before the revolutionary war had to be shown that they're dicks through physical violence, if you did not show violence, then they would continue to persecute everyone and treat you like shit.
Except that the holocaust led to World War II, and all, but let's overlook that and speak our minds
Might i suggest some further reading on the topic? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_War_2
A lot of people died during the civil war.

The Civil War is so overrated and tryhard. The Northwest Rebellion is the shit, but you've probably never heard of it. :cardigan:
He is a troll. Nothing to see here. He made the account to post this. Remember NEFAT. Never Ever Feed A Troll
His arguments are already taken down. I'll just keep on requoting them.
Why was he so terrible?
There was no reason for the war, other than Lincoln was a member of the Wigg party and sought to make American into an empire and the south was exerting too much control over their states. America was one of the only nations in the modern world to have a civil war over slavery--every other country emancipated slaves by compensation. If you study the economics at the time, plantation owners would have taken compensation for slaves very easily.
Never in my days have I seen a shit storm form so big so quickly. It's like it started out as a full blown shit hurricane from post one.
You clearly didn't take American History to understand that we did not even go to war on the issue on slavery in the first place.
That's the middle school understanding of US history, true. College level classes will tell you that slavery was really at the base of the conflict. The fighting over states' rights is often said to be the real reason, but they were fighting for the right to own slaves and make decisions regarding slaves. Lincoln was a known supporter of the containment movement, which wanted to limit the growth of slavery, thus the reasoning for the South Carolina secession threat which snowballed into the secession of all the southern states. The north and south economic differences transpired from the growth of the plantation economy in the south, maintained by slavery.
