• Will You Ever Be Of Importance?

I understand that I'll probably never be of importance, and I'm cool with that, for some people to be important, many, many others have to be unimportant, so I'm just taking one for the team. If I ever am important that'll be cool and all, but I'd much rather be important to people I care about.
I'm going to be so important that I'll be important and I'll do something and die a happy, not-poor, not-irish man
I intend to be an important figure in the literary world, but as long as when I'm 55 someone might walk past me and say "hey man I read your book, I really got where you were coming from" then I can die happy.
Yep, the Nobel and Pulitzer prizes are peripheral to a writer. Well, at least you have a goal.
No, no you won't.
Sorry to sound like a pompous douchebag, but I already am important, as are we all. If you're not important to at least one family member/friend/significant other/group then you really are a shitty person.
In a couple hundred years, the Holocaust will be known as childs play compared to Stalin's killings, simply because it's a bigger statistic, they won't be able to see the hatred that was the Holocaust because we live in a time where the Holocaust is bastardized with no end, however, they will live in a time where no one was alive to tell their tales or speak out.
i intend to write novels with controversial but deep and thrilling plots that will appeal to readers young and old across the world. i will use the money earned from this to purchase my very own helicopter, which i will fly wherever the hell i please to deliver care packages to soldiers on the frontline or maybe rescue stranded mountain climbers or something charitable like that. and i'll keep writing books
I wish to help develope a post scarcity world. Either that are cure aging.
I'm planning on joining the military and becoming a police officer afterward so I'd say yes.
I plan to be a importance, I already want to be a paramedic which will be in my grasp in a few years when I can start training, and I hope I could go to med school and be a ER physician some day.. so yes.. I plan and will be of some importance to people some day.
I'll be important to friends and family, and that's enough for me. [editline]13th December 2010[/editline] Plus I might write a book about how weed isn't any more damaging to your body than alcohol if it isn't legalized between now and the time I'm old enough for a book written by me to be taken seriously.
I'm a beast at battlefield 2, just search "hardkill", I gave it away after I stopped playing but still.
Probably not. But someday I wish to try to become a modern day Napolean...minus the arsenic poison and exile.
Probably not, and I'm completely fine with that.
I live on a speck of dust in the middle of nowhere, and my life expectancy is merely a spark in the whole scheme. So no, I won't ever be important. Do I care? No. Does it keep me from living a fulfilling life? No. Does it REALLY change anything to me? No. So I don't even bother thinking about it. Being important is not what matters; being happy is. So stop worrying about such trivial things, pop yourself a soda open and celebrate the marvel that is life.

Mankind evolved from a speck, a small chain of proteins in a pond somewhere, and we've come this far. We can only go up further from here. We can't just give up because the universe seems big, you just have to take things into perspective and work on one thing at a time. Someday we'll be more than the speck that is earth.
I am the most important person in the world. Your opinion is invalid.
Give me eight years.
We live and die alone. Importance means nothing.
We live and die alone. Importance means nothing.
"The state or fact of being of great significance or value the importance of democracy the relative importances of the external and internal causes" Even I, the worlds most important internet g33k, lives with someone. You must be something else.
I like to think so.. :unsmith:
You suddenly get a hunch to enlist in the military to be 'important'? What? I myself am enlisting after this school year and I'm offended when people who wish to enlist do so to fulfill something for themselves rather their country. Other than that, I'm guessing you think 'being important' involves a spotlight of some sort as others have said. Just do your best to be important for your circle of family and friends.
I plan on being a theoretical physicist, and I've wanted to be one since I was young. Too bad I can't understand calculus yet though, since at least 6 or 7 of my physics books are full to the brim with it.
We live and die alone. Importance means nothing.
If your important enough you will live on forever. either through genes (ladies like important men) history book or if you were able to solve death (which would make you important)
Everyone is a winner in life. :buddy:
I'm already important, my mom says so
Hah! Oh of course I will :buddy: No I won't. :smith:
I don't have any skills, I don't know anyone rich, and I am not rich. I will be coming from a middle class family, and have nothing to do.
Go to school, learn skills. Go to job, use skills, make money. All you have to do is actually do something about it and you won't be completely worthless. People like Thomas Edison and Albert Einstein weren't just born with their knowledge. [editline]14th December 2010[/editline]
Either that are cure aging.
Gonna have to haul some ass then, from the sound of it, more and more breakthroughs are being found in that which could possibly cure or just significantly slow aging.
I'm going through life with the ideal that if I can make at least one, one, person in life happier; then I have made something of myself. So far I'm fulfilling that goal. A longer version would be that if I am helping people, I am making something of myself. I don't need full-bore altruism, but I do like to go out of my way to solve a friend's problems.
